Who Likes Aircraft ?

A captured Japanese Nakajima Ki-43-IB Hayabusa being rebuilt by the Technical Air Intelligence Unit (TAIU) in Hangar 7 at Eagle Farm, Brisbane, Queensland (Australia), in 1943. It was painted with Japanese markings for recognition photos but flown with US markings
 
I still regret missing seeing “Vandy 1” the Navy’s bunny Phantom the couple times it came through NAS Glenview in the 80s.
I did see a VX4 F18 and a VX4 F14 with small bunnies on their tails.
Then after the tail hook convention scandal in the early 90s, the Navy made the squadrons get politically correct and the bunnies had to go.

Prior to WWII, this was the largest passenger plane built in Britain. The Armstrong Whitworth Ensign carried forty passengers at a cruising speed of 180mph. (top speed was 210).
