Holy Crap !!!

While working with the FAA on training to be a Designee for Airworthiness Certification in 2006, we were in Lake City, FL. One day going to lunch we spotted this B-25 setting outside the FBO and the senior FAA guy says lets take a look at it. He whips into the FBO and we all go in, and he flashes his badge and tells the guy inside we're going out to look at the B-25 and out we go. No questions.

Here's a 737-800 in military dress as a C-40. This a/c had enough auxiliary fuel tanks in the cargo it could fly all the way to the middle east non stop which it did several times we were told during the war. You can see by all the antennae on the top it was loaded with communication equipment.

I went to the Lake City Airshow in the early 90's and saw the A-10 Warthog for the 1st time. It flew in and did a tight 360 over the crowd like I had never seen an aircraft do before. That's the day I fell in love with them !

Samaritan's Purse will retire their DC-8 this year, it is the last operational DC-8 flying anywhere. They replaced it with a 767f. This DC-8 was built in 1968, it had a long life, and other than having four engines it doesn't really look out of place along side new jets.
