Well, it does have a radial engine. But Hawker had been working on the Tempest well before a captured FW-190 was available to study. Despite different engine designs and radiator placements, the Typhoon, Tempest and Sea Fury had a lot of common heritage.

was my understanding the tempest came out after a 190 was captured and dissected in 41
