I've always thought the Cutlass was one of the goofiest looking planes ever to serve in our military. There's been some oddball experimentals but as far as ones that actually served in operational units, the F7U Cutlass ranks up there if not at the top.

Checked on the young lad this morning and he's making progress on a table that I gave him. I needed some measurements off the messed up wing to make the one I've got going to work perfect and get him back in the air. It'll fly again and I'm sure he'll have in-flight insurance next round. Sad part is he'd only owned it about 10 days and it was the instructor that f'd up the landing!
