A friend (who is originally from Buffalo) passed these on to me. :frozen tongue:

Regardless if they are current or older photos...Way more snow than I would ever want to deal with...especially once retired! :snow plow:

Hockey team sucks too. Does that godforsaken place have anything going for it?

chicken wings and roast beef on weck.......honestly you wouldn't believe the turnaround the city has gone though ( other than the winters and this one has really sucked ) the last decade ..not to sound like the chamber of commerce but we have a world class medical corridor, an art gallery valued at a hundred million, a great waterfront to enjoy our admittedly short great summers, great suburbs surrounding the city with entertainment of all kinds and a county of over a million people ..the city itself especially around the hockey complex is being completely overhauled with bars, restaurants and an amazing outdoor skating area plus a casino..Buffalo has been knocked for the winter weather for some time but the other seasons are pretty nice ...there is no defending this winter ( or the Sabres or Bills ) but usually its a great place to ski and enjoy outdoor recreation in a normal winter with our normal snowfall and temperatures....also we have a new owner for both teams (same guy) who seems willing to spend so we'll see if they can turn the sport franchises around too

You need to be of tough stock to live up there.

I know a guy who retired there two years ago at the age of 70. He's a retired college professor. The past two summers he would contact me a few times to brag about how comfortable he was in 75 degree temps, knowing we were flirting with 100 here in eastern N.C.. I never hear from the smart *** during the winter, and I'm too polite to remind him of what our weather is like. Maybe I will send him a picture of grass.

If we had snow like that here in Maryland, kids would be going to school all summer to make up for the number of days canceled during the regular school year. As it was, schools were still closed 2 days after it stopped snowing...it snowed 8-10 inches of powder! All roads were cleared by the same afternoon the snow stopped! Then there were 2 hour delays last week...because the morning temps were below freezing! Seriously, it warmed up maybe 3 degrees in those two hours...
