will a 71 rr hood fit on a 73 rr

I recently saw a post of someone selling their 71 roadrunner bulge hood and was curious if it will fit on my 73.

also wondering if anyone did the front conversion on the 73-74 to look like the 71-72.

It will bolt on and close, but...

The body lines in the front corners won't line up.

They are about 1/4" higher on the 73.

71-72 Plymouth body lines are different than 73-74, it would take a bit of work to make hood fit, or fenders if doing a front clip swap. I think the trunk lid is the only interchangeable body part between the two body styles.

As stated, the hood will bolt on and close.

The 73/74 has raised portions on the header panel that continue onto the hood and then fade about 6 inches in.

A 73/74 hood on a 71/72 car will have 1/4" raised portions of the hood, higher than the header panel.

A 71/72 hood on a 73/74 car will have those portions of the header panel above the level of the hood in those areas, and no corresponding body line on the hood.

Regarding the front clip swap. that would be a LOT of mismatched body lines and contours.
