Has anyone been able to fit a 10 inch wide wheel with no modifications including rolling or cutting the fender lip?
If so what offset worked and how much tire would fit. I have a 69 road runner
Thanks for any information.

No way could I fit those under my 68 GTX - the 69 is basically the same car. I say that then I had a friend back in the day that fit 10” cragars under his 68. It’s all in the backspace. Sorry but I don’t know what it was.

Yes.

Here is what I often do. I take the wheel and tire that is already on the car and measure the clearance it has to the leaf spring and to the wheelwell lip. Now if you have a 7 inch wheel and have 2 inches of clearance to the leaf springs and 4 inches to the edge of the wheelwell, add it all up and see what sort of wheel you can fit. I try to keep at least an inch from everything just to allow for chassis flex.

I have 315/45-17's on 17x11" rims for the back of my Coronet. They have about 3/4" clearance to the outer wheel lip & the same to the spring....

Most aftermarket aluminum rims run about an inch wider than their advertised spec.....Since they measure the distance inside the bead to the inside of the other bead.
3/4" is tight!

I've run as close as 1/4" to the spring.... And never had it rub... The outer lip I've had issues with when you get down to 1/2".. Never a problem with 3/4"...

I have a 68 Roadrunner and I can't imagine trying to stuff a 10" wide rim on it without rubbing when hitting bumps. At stock ride height, that wheel well up inside the top has got to run when hitting bumps. Mine has a 255/70 tire and an 8" rm on the rear and it rubs over any decent bump. I understand it may fit on the ground, but when you stuff that much tire in there on the low Plymouth quarter panel, its gotta be damn close. I myself wouldn't go bigger than 275/60/15 and even then I'd be watching that tire. The Plymouth wheel well is definitely a bit different then the Dodge with that low wheel well lip.

10" wide rim - NO PROBLEM. BUT, You can't run anything taller than a 28" tire. I'll measure mine later today and post.

I had 10" Cragars with a lot of dish on my 70 Bee.

No issues.

...of course I ran the air shocks up quite a bit.

IIRC it just barely scrubbed in hard cornering if the shocks were down.

Sure they'll fit. Dang, mine might have been 8's

Sure it will. I ran 295/50-15's on a 15x10 with 5.5" BS for a few years on my '69 Sport Satellite. The passenger side would rub just a little bit in the top of the wheel well when I went over a big bump. Nothing that I couldn't live with. Probably put 5000 miles on the car with those wheels and tires.

Here’s what’s on mine. Looks to be about 6” backspace
