Doing as much research as I can, looks like the 66/67 wheel wells are a little smaller that later. As I am buying tires and wheels online, this is for 1st Gen Chargers owners only- here is my thought for replacement wheel/tires:
Front- 15x7 w 3.5 BS 235/70?/15- question here is should it be a 235/70 or 235/60 or ?
Rear- 15x8 w 4 BS 275/60/15- research shows that this will fit; however curious how it will be with a sure grip rear end as someone noted a distinct feel.
Anyone with this set up with the steelies, thoughts, feedback greatly appreciated.

I have 15x8 with 215-65-15 on the frront
15x10 with 295-50-15 on the back

I had 245-60-15 on the 8" rims on the front but they would catch on the wheel lip moulding.
The 215's had to be stretch a bit to seal up on the rim.

If you like alot of sidewall then the 275-60's will be good for you.

235 70 on the front of mine,, if your wheel alignment is whack, may rub.
275 60s fit on the back.
Not sure on the bs numbers.

215-70-15 on 15x7 steel rims up front on mine and 275-60-15 on 15x8 on the rear, plenty of room everywhere

It's my understanding the rear wheel well is the same for the 66-67 charger and coronet. Did you have to do anything to get the 15x10 wheel and the 295 tires to fit without rubbing?

No they aren't the same between a Charger and Coronet a Charger has a larger opening.
I did have to put a 1/4" spacer behind the wheel.
I have pretty heavy custom springs.
