Will this shifter work in my 71 Charger?

Hi, I came across a shifter for a decent price. But it had this weird offset to it. Anyone seen one like this? Will it work on my 71 Charger? Thanks!

Have seen one like it. If you are trying to replace an existing shifter with it it will not fit your shifter hump.

I've never seen one like it. Does anyone know if I can remove the dog-leg from it? Does anyone know what it is for?

Kind of looks like an aftermarket one for a Camaro.
Won't fit the Mopar humps.
