I need to know the right position to attach the windshield molding clips. If I put them in the depressions where I think are supposed to be, the molding will way high compared to the cowl. If I put them next to the depression all the way down, then the molding will be flush with the cowl. My old cowl was so rusty it's hard to tell what it looked like, but I think they were all the way down.

Is that cowl an AMD top cowl panel? The blocked in area in that panel isn't stamped correctly. The indentation stamp should be most of the way down in the windshield recess channel. I have a front cowl section removed from a 67 Coronet, and could show you the difference. I did not get the cowl section up to my shop today, but hopefully tomorrow.

Yes, AMD panel. I'll have to do some more figuring on it tomorrow and see if it will work if I just attach it next to the recess like it's sitting in the picture. Other options would be to trim the bottom of the clip or maybe cut a slot to drop it down into. Ain't it fun when new parts don't work?

Having just gone through this bullshit a week ago, first make sure you have the correct clips! Just because those were in a kit for your make and model doesn't mean they're correct !! That said, what are you working on ?? Those DEFINATELY are NOT for a '69 B-body !!

1966 Satellite. I'm going with option "c". Pick hammer and dolly to make it work. Modify the pocket on the cowl. Nine more to go.
