Covid, the virus of stupid people. The mortality rate for pneumonia was higher than "covid" in 2020. Nothing was shut down because of that EVER. No mandatory vaccines for pneumonia either. The biggest killer is fear and you have to be stupid to "believe" this crap.
 
I'm on the fence.
I do my part to help keep the environment stable and teach my kids the same things.
I'm not 100% SOLD on anything the Liberals and media are spouting.
Sorry, I'm just not agreeing wholeheartedly.
 
Potts, your post tells me you are thinking about it and trying to balance all information and that the balance of information is what decides for you, not liberals like me or conservatives like some others. I that is the right way to approach it and it looks like you are teaching your kids to think for themselves too. Not just follow the rest of the sheep (on either side).

Not be wasteful or careless, I agree. But thinking you can control the planet is foolhardy. If an ice age is coming, do you think mankind can stop it? Likewise a rise in temperature. I hate to put a damper on your ego but mankind is not more powerful than the sun.

Actually it's not. I lost another friend to Covid. (More of an acquaintance. A cousin to a good friend.) Covid is nearly 20x more deadly than influenza. And this variant? Far more infectious. Facts and data are not a strong subject matter for you Q.

Pneumonia and Influenza are two different things. Again, stop. You don't know what you're talking about. Most Covid deaths are because of Pneumonia. Caused by Covid respiratory infection. Influenza is a virus that developed in humans. We all have natural defenses. (Sometimes it's not enough. And the disease wins the fight.) Covid is animal based that jumped to humans. (Where, how and why of course is a whole different debate subject.) We don't have the same bio-defense mechanisms. It's why we can't cure one of the common cold strains. Because it too is a Corona virus

The story on the recent ice ages is interesting, but doesn't it end with a statement that we are not going into one, implying human intervention. Was the point that we were going into an ice age no matter what? Or not? Richard Cranium takes another side to it by saying that warmer is better, but do we actually know that is the case. I do not disagree that the last interglacial was likely warmer than this one, and that it was even warmer if we went back to times before the Himalaya rose, but I am not sure how well we are adapted to those worlds. We might be finding out. I disagree that Cojohnso1 is the main one trolling here. (Well maybe the last one did some responding.) I'm pretty liberal and a democrat, but also trying to understand how the world is changing, why, and how we might make a difference for our kids through the actions and decisions we make.

I'm sorry for your loss. But in case you missed it....three million Americans die every year. Not from covid, either. Statistics show you have a higher chance of dying just from being alive in America...than you do from covid.

3M people out of 331M citizens is a hair under one percent. 99.2% chance of survival, I believe it works out to.

Covid has a proven recovery rate (overall) of 99.7%.

More people recover from covid, than recover from life in America every year.

That's what I said in my post but: You can't fix stupid. Posts like yours have been made to this guy multiple times and facts don't matter when you make stuff up and promote fear mongering. He made my point, people died of pneumonia - and were allowed to die to inflate COVID death rates and they get more money for COVID deaths than pneumonia deaths.

The reason why death rates have fallen of those infected is entirely because of the vaccines. And of course far better treatments. Those that are in ICU? Are much younger on average than first wave. And that's because vaccination rates amoung elderly is ALOT higher. The fight is not over. This was all predicted.
 
In 2020. Covid killed more than opioid overdose, influenza, car crashes, gun violence, suicide combine. Only heart disease and cancer was higher. And now news out if New York that there may have been nursing home coverups meaning death rate was even higher.

I'm unsure what metrics of information many out there are quoting?
