Wow it's COLD out there! What about your spot?

It's in the 50*s today be 20*s tonight & thru the morning hrs
we are having a lil' warm spell here
get a break from the cold & freaken' snow,
it's typical for Calif Central Sierras Tuolumne Co.
a few ridges NE over from Yosemite, SW from Lake Tahoe
as the crow flies, to be cold as hell & snowing 18"+ to 4 foot one day
& nice & sunny the next or all in the same day...

I'm just glad it not snowing, again
I hate the 'devils dandruff' now, ruins everything

Maybe Chinas factories will fix it, do your part and get a diesel and just roll straight coal non stop. Maybe that'll get us a couple extra months of driving
 
I've been busy shoveling snow from the Arctic conditions. Oh wait, that doesn't happen here!:lol:

It was -19F on my way to work this morning. I don't know what the wind chill was. Not as bad as it could be, I didn't think it was windy to speak of.
On the way home at 4, it was up to a -3F.

We had that yesterday too, tomorrow it should break and it is supposed to go up to 24. We have had years when the actual winter lasts 3+ weeks. We find poor dead birds under some trees in the yard in the spring when that happens, it is just too long for them to hang on :(
Tonight will be real winter yet.

IF we end up with a whopping 2 days like that this year it is officially a super mild year. Bad sign for July though, when the Great Lakes stay mostly open it is usually 2 weeks of solid 95F+ and dew points in the 80's. People die because their sweat can't evaporate. Neither end is good for my utility costs.
 
When I was in college in South Dakota in the mid '80s, it could be really brutal there. When I woke up one Saturday morning, I thought the heat had gone out in the dorm. But it hadn't. It was just -70 wind chill that day. That wasn't all that unusual, there.

We're supposed to get up into the +20s today. That'll be good as we have no snow cover and you have to start worrying about freezing septics in these cold temps if they go on too long. 40s again next week.
 
It's been a bit nippy here for the past couple of days.....easier to sleep at night......even with the A/C cranked to cold..... :lol:

I converted to 'Washing Machines' so that youse non-Metric guys understand. :rolleyes:

-6 tonight here. Calling for +40 on Saturday. Might have to breakout the Hawaiian Tropic Deep Tanning Oil and get some rays on the back deck then. :p
