China produces more pollution than ALL of the other countries combined.. AND they plan on building something like 1000 more coal plants in the near future..
NO MATTER what America does, it will make NO DIFFERENCE to the earth as long as China pollutes this much....

Actually they produce about 30%. You are right about US policies do not dictate China policy. But once upon a time? We led by example. Want them to change? How about we stop buying their cheap crap! Starting with the #1 seller of China crap? Walmart? Amazon is closing that cheap gap fast. So them too.

@Triplegreen500 : MAJORITY of electric consumption is day time: "PEAK" MW use starts around 9-10 am:, Been in power gen industry (operator) for 30 yrs: Watch PJM (Penn Jersey Maryland) grid consumption & prices (LMP) as part of job: bid the plant would "send" was all based on our cost/MW (minimum to cover operation) & if "demand" projected was high, we would "bid" up, usually get "picked up" & be at full load before demand increase. Night time is NOTHING as far as demand compared to day time. FYI: Batteries at work last week took out not 1, but BOTH UPS (uninterupted power supplies: dc to ac power source) units, crashed plant, cost $$$$, emerg gen was NOT set up to "assist" because it has its own "load selection". Plant I worked at 20 yrs ago, 3 bad battery cells failed, power spike tripped us, ups failed due to cells, no lube oil to BOTH steam turbines for 9 seconds, wiped out bearings for BOTH turbines, BOTH reduction gear and BOTH generators: bowed turbine shafts: 7 million bucks.

That does not sound like a well designed system.
