looking for input.

cars a 67 b body. im thinking the stock spring mount has to go right? ill use the one that comes with the cal tracs.

will i be needing longer u bolts also?

steve

You will re-use your front spring hangars. If you use your old multi-leafs the U-bolts will be the same length. If runnin the mono leafs shorter.

I USED THE SAME U BOLTS SWITHING FROM SS SPRINGS TO MONOLEAFS.
front spring hanger is the same, just dont overtighten the bolts .you dont want any binding on the front.

Street car or track only? How fast is it?

Let us know how it goes Steve. I also have a Calvert Racing Cal Tracs System going on my Roadrunner when I get the rear end crammed back in the car here shortly

I have Caltracs. 2 flats preload on pass side and the space the thickness of a nickel on driver side with driver in seat.
9 x 28 M/T slicks
I'm pleased with how they perform.

What back spacing are you using on the rears?
Did you move the springs in, or are they stock location?
I think I will be running the same rear slick as you have on yours.... These things dont hold a very big tire do they.....

Thanks,
:VB toast:

Springs are Caltrac mono leaf. Shocks are QA-1. Stock wheel wells, no mini tubs, springs are in stock location. 15 x 8 rear wheels with 4.5 inch backspacing.
Best 60 ft is 1.44 leaving at 2000 rpm on the footbrake.

What are the rest of your 1/4 mile or 1/8th mile times?

Is your car consistent? I helped a buddy run a 72 Challenger that ran low 9's and we chased our tails with the CalTracks. Finally slapped on ladder bars and we were able to dial it in right off the bat. The car would NOT run consistent at all with the CT's. John got to know us by voice over the phone too lol. James sold the CT's but kept the mono springs which are still laying up in my rafters......

Can you drive on the street/highway with cal-tracs?

The Challenger I mentioned was street legal but it rode like a 1 ton pickup.

I run them. They work great. I had a pinion snubber bushing fail once. Almost put me in the wall as the rear unloaded when I hit second gear. Decided ditch the snubber and get Caltracs after that. I picked up almost a .10 in my 60'. I got the monoleafs but decided to hold off on the rear shocks (I use Monroe cheapies for now and they seem to work). I did replace the ancient U bolts with some new ones. My best 60' is 1.47 with a 3725# car and 3:91s and a tight converter.

cal tracs

Yes, we are. We are using the mono leaf spring and cal trac bar. The stock spring mount can stay. Cal trac tech will give you all the info you need. They work perfect on our car. Best pass with cal tracs 8.96@152

looks awesome, just installed mine yesterday, it looks like you are using the bottom hole for the bar on the front hanger?
