1974 roadrunner drag car

I have a 74 roadrunner I am thinking of turning into a drag car. How do they hook? Do I have to make some serious suspension mods to hook 500ish hp?
 
it will hook fine with XHD or Superstock springs... really matters on the slick u are running as well as the rear gear ratio.
