This ones for you later model guys...I'm needing some filler to help straighten-out the pieces between the bumper and body. I guess they're urethane or some such. They are supposed to follow the body lines and be as unnoticeable as possible but over time warp and distend. This is mostly on 75-up cars with big giant bumpers. I need some filler to help smooth these things back into shape...I can't even consider a paint job until this gets done. Regular body filler will stick, but I'm sure would eventually crack and fail. Any suggestions?
If anyone has the rear pieces for a 75-78 Cordoba I'd be interested in buying them.
Thanks.

Check out 3M they have a two part epoxy based flexible filler I believe it is 4147 is the catalog number.I use this daily with good results!

Thanks. Is that the stuff you use on late model bumpers? Or, I guess bumper COVERS would be more accurate. I've seen the stuff used in various body-work articles, but wasn't sure who made it or what it was called. I would have probably tumbled to 3M or Rage eventually, but I like to hear about what people are using that actually WORKS.
I'll try the heat gun trick, too. I think the problem with these parts is shrinkage. They're not the worst I've seen, but would definitely ruin an otherwise decent paintjob.

Yes this is the stuff I use to repair covers on a daily usage.Alot of the older flexible parts were made of urethane.By now you would think the shrinkage would be done by now.The only problem you may have is tempurature changes affecting the shape some.
