You know the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance...
No one would dream of putting vinyl upholstery in a car or not having air conditioning...
You break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m....
And the list goes on!

Boy howdy you got that right.

Say BTW
I had a girlfriend who once told me to KISS her where It's HOT and Nasty! ... So I took her to Pasadeena

I have a good many kin folks that live in Texas as well as way to many that are buried in the Huff family cemetery in Harwood, Texas. My mother's resting place just to mention one.

It is so hot there that when we come for a visit I get sun burned in the shade, and in the night I get moon burned. Lol !!

Sorry I was afraid that might be a bit too close, Oil city just does not heve that ring to it. And the rest of the world will thinking about California, And I know you have a good sense of humor. If ya ever get up to Cowtown I owe ya a Beer, I know the best sleezy little biker joint over there and it's a beer bar too. I do miss the Ice Houses though.

Been awhile since going to any ice house around here. Friends of ours owned one and my wife and I used to go there and shoot pool but he didn't keep it long. Got a spot to park a 29' 5th wheel? :D

Greetings Texans! I'm from California, but I knew exactly which Pasadena y'all were talking about. I was there many moons ago--is that where Gilly's used to be? Now there was a real sh__-kickin' bar!

Sure Do got a concrete pad next to house just make sure it is 9ft 6in wide or less. and bring me a suregrip 8 & 3/4 or better to replace my 8.25. I supposr any old Dana will do in a pinch. Isuppose we'll need a 727 to get that Dana right. Huh? :angel11:.

Well Gilleys ain't what it used to be. Now it's in down town dallass
And hell trey even opened one up at the Indian Casino up in Oklahoma
kind of brings a whole new meaning to Cowboys and Indians :eusa_think:

No joke Al...it was 106 in Chattanooga Sunday!!!!

ive often wondered about living in a place thats that hot and sticky all the time, my copd doesnt go well with it , lately here its been in the low 90s and terrible humid, oh how i love air conditioners anymore, my garage is only 18-20 and i put a good size 220 air out there to help keep it cooler, seems like augest weather here right now you guys down south must be tuff old birds, i think its the humidity thats harder then the actual temp to deal with, bad when your sitting underneath a tree sweating

I grew up in Cleveland, spent 20+ years in Tyler and Ft. Worth (Jessipup, know anybody from Cowtown Mopars?) and moved back to Ohio. I wouldn't live in Houston for love nor money, too hot and humid and too much traffic. I loved Ft. Worth, didn't have much liking for Dallas or Dalls snobs.

the humidity burns off during the day when it's hot but it's the evening when it comes back and stays until the sun comes up then it starts to burn off again but then there are the days when there's a high chance of rain and it sticks around all day. As I type, it's 82% and 81 degrees but the % will go lower before long but it doesn't feel all that bad outside.....and when you live in it all your life, you get accustomed to it.

Yeah, the traffic in Houston can suck but I've been in worse places. Moved out of the Houston suburbs in 84 and that was the best thing I ever did but the traffic wasn't all that bad where I lived but I have had a good taste of the Dallas/Ft Worth traffic too lol.

Today here Cranky it got up to 95.5 its been higher but with the humidity feels like 100 + lol, Im sort of confined to the couch with a bad foot so i guess i have a legit excuse not to be out but its getting real old real quick trying to amuse myself with and the computer. We have a weather warning out here until Saturday at 9 PM for folks with breathing problems and then they say a strong storm possible and maybe some relief.. :) I can see how you could get used to it living with it so long, our weather up here probably wouldn't affect you to much lol.. I guess its like here clean over to at least Michigan area, one of the members emailed me today and said hes in Cleavland area on a trip and he said its hot.. yep! rolling.gif

''you know you're from texas when''

-You overhear someone explain how he installed a counter binder on his combine's pulley-driven wheat flattener with a square head hydrostatic coupler, using a universal bushing degreaser, and you can't believe he left only 5 inches of clearance between the kernel rotor and the straw-feed regulator - the idiot!

-You think the stock market is a place to buy cattle and hogs

-You understand, and become quite emotional, when some outsider doesn't know the difference between a farmer and a rancher

-The local car wash has a sign prohibiting people from using it to wash out manure or animal blood.

I've been here since 1995, love it, with all the heat and year round motorcycle riding climate, that folks is a benefit! It can and does also get cold here, you would not think it does, but, it does folks!

heck i lived in phoenix arizona all my life.they got shirts sayin "i survived 128 degrees"that day......Bear R.-

Many years ago I went back to where I was born (Massachusetts and notice I didn't call it home lol) and they were having a heat wave. It was around 88 with low humidity and it felt great to me but everyone there was dragging butt lol
