Just got my new magazine for November.
They ran a story about R.A.D Auto Machine building a 512 stroker
that made 409 hp and 411 lbs of torque!
Oh, and that was with a crossram intake. Get real!
Glad my subcription just ran out.:argue:

Yep, I was excited to see the buildup, but the horsepower was pretty disappointing. Seems like it should have easily made 100 more both tq and hp with512 cubes. Maybe a bad combo in there somewhere.

sounds like someone has no idea how to make mopar power.

Did they explain why it sucked? Or did they drool over a pathetic flat torque curve?

WOW that is pretty weak, Why would they even publish numbers like that?

Im done with it here to when it runs out, I don't see the point of them telling about it like bigman says.. But you saved me a read, cause i didn't read it yet lol.. Octobers Hemi 72 Cuda wasn't to bad though! :eusa_think:

Didn't the MRL 400 build posted here make over 425 HP?

Yes:
Typical Car (chevy) Craft cover story.
MOPAR 512 CI, 409 HP / 411 Lb Ft Torque.

But hey: Next month:
Chevy 350 Build-up, great for the street 22 mpg
450 HP / 444 lb ft Torque

Again, Typical Propaganda, down play everyone but GM (Chevy)

That's just stupid. You can do that easy with a stock stroke stock headed 383.......hell a 361.

EDIT:

We got that copy here. If you look, they use a chassis dyno. So that is to the rear tires. It'll still do better without that stupid crossram. Stuck in the sixties.

At the wheels on a chassis dyno, is a little better, that's about 20% parasitic drag, makes it around 500hp at the flywheel, but someone doesn't know how to build a MOPAR 512ci Stroker over at Car Craft, I don't get any of the rags, any longer, way too many bad articles, too many Mustang's & Camaro's squirrels too, "Not that there's anything wrong with that" to quote Jerry Seinfeld....

Once again, it's real easy to be an armchair quarterback and sling crap from behind a computer screen. My one request is if you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation, PLEASE MOVE ON.........

And this coming from the armchair moderator. I think you should move on.

Took that personally, did ya RustyRatRod? Can you honestly say that you don't get tired of some of the sophomoric crap that we all have to read if we're trying to find some useful information on this site?
