when i turn the key over to start it gas starts spewing out of the carb where the arrow is, i dont know what the problem is and/or how to fix it. any help would be nice :)

(This might be a simple fix but im only 17 so i dont have as much knowledge as most of you on this kind of stuff)

that is a bowl vent.gas comming out of there means your float is sticking open.carb prob needs rebuilding, not too hard to do with basic mechanical knowledge on a tiny carb like yours.check and see if you can get a kit at a local auto parts store.you may need to take the carb with you to get the right kit.you could also find someone to rebuild it for you.

stuck float. less than 20 bucks for a kit easy as a lawnmower to repair.

oh yeah if it has done much of that change your oil! because it will be full of gas oil in gas = dead engine

You buy the kit and pay shippin to and from Georgia and I'll build snot out of it for you.

Well, a load of snot in a crankcase ain't so hot either. Add to that spewing out the bowl vent and we're talkin' some gross **** right there.

Nice offer, but if you do it for him, how is he supposed to learn how to do it?

I had planned on a how to like I did here:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=184531

and here:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=166891

so he would know how to do it next time. Any carburetor can be daunting if you've never done one. Sorry you didn't like the idea.

Those are nice posts. It isn't that I didn't like the idea, but thought something like the links you posted would be better. I learn hands-on, and I usually just jump in feet first to learn it. I also said I applauded your offer too because there are a lot less friendly and helpful people today.

I built a two barrel in neither of those links, so he wouldn't be familiar with either of those. This is funny. Never been shot down for trying to help someone for free. Especially by someone other than who the offer was given to. I think I'll think twice before offering help from now on.

Rusty, have you ever done a thread like that on a Quadrajet.

Those were good threads. Would you mind if I saved them for future reference.

Sure. That's why I made them. To share and help folks. Even though I am banned from over there now, that doesn't change why I posted them.

Nevermind Rusty. You don't seem to comprehend when someone is trying to give you a compliment, so just nevermind...

There was no compliment. "It isn't that I didn't like the idea, BUT...." "But" cancels out everything you said prior. It's all good, though. No worries.

Ok, Lets re-cap...

You buy the kit and pay shippin to and from Georgia and I'll build snot out of it for you.

And I said he would learn better doing it himself.

But you said you would build it for him, not show him how to do it.

I then said that the links you posted were great, and showed very well how to fix it. I also commented how kind it was to offer help.

I didn't shoot you down, I supported your how-to posts...

Another poster complimented your posts, and basically thanksed him, but not me when I did the same. I tried to end it, but you just continued to take a few words out of context so that it looked like I was disrespecting you. If you read my entire post, it says:

"Those are nice posts. It isn't that I didn't like the idea, but thought something like the links you posted would be better. I learn hands-on, and I usually just jump in feet first to learn it. I also said I applauded your offer too because there are a lot less friendly and helpful people today.

Maybe you just want to selectively read certain things, so whatever.

Have a nice day and weekend.

ps.. and a "but" does not cancel out anything, BUT rather starts a new thought...

Ok fine. I'm wrong you're right. My *** is the blackest. Are you happy now?

Actually, no I am not. You are not wrong, and I am not right. I just want you to accept the fact that I was trying to give you a compliment after the initial post, and maybe say thanks...
