What year door hinges are interchangeable, if any? I will more than likely need my original (I hope, haven't been changed that I know of). This would be for my 71 RR.

I believe 71-74 hinges are the same...not for sure though..

lower door hinges changes to S spring kind from 74 and laters, but al the 71/78 B bodies fits the same. AMD repros work for all 70s B bodies, but just actually CORRECT for 71/73 and MAYBE partial 74 production.

You don't have to worry, your 71 will get correct repro parts

My 71 door hinges are missing the coil type spring. Is it possible to insert either the coil spring or S-type spring in there without taking the door hinges off and rebuilding them? The bushing's themselves appear to be ok and not to worn out so why rebuild/replace the whole hinge?

I know replacing the door hinges should have been the first thing I did during bodywork and before sending off to paint. Lesson learned. Right now I fear replacing hinges on a fresh paint job.

I had the same problem with my 73 hinges, missig the coil, got the AMD reproductions, and they are spot on, and glad i replaced them, they are great, first time in 30 years the doors stay open by themselves, and close nice as well!

Bought the rebuild kit off ebay and rebuilt the hinges tonight. Changed them 1 at a time leaving the doors on. Plenty of room to swap out hinges 1 at a time from inside the fenderwell once you take off the front wheels and splash shields. Doing it this way makes it a 1 man job. But rebuiling the hinges is a PITA without a press. Had to do rebuild mine using hammer/punch and/or c-clamps.
