Have used these guys for years without issues, and recently heard bad things and just got off the phone with them filing a claim on a damaged part. Pricing seems higher lately also, is it time to go with someone else? Who do you guys prefer?

I ship a few hundred packages out each year. I gave up on UPS about 8 years ago. Their automatic responce for a claim is " you did not package it properly". I use FedEx for larger/heavier packages. Faster, cheaper, more reliable. Use USPS for smaller and international orders.

USPS, UPS is slow, The guy across the street has been building a Mustang for the last 16 years. UPS makes frequent stops there. For some Damn reason the delivery guy delivers my stuff to him. How #%*******@# hard is it to look at the address ! Not a fan of UPS

USPS, is a little slow , but for the price , im cool with that. i recently shipped 2 15 x 10 steel cragar S/S's from colorado to florida , parcel post , it cost me 28 bucks a piece and they got there in 5 days. i thought that was a good deal. those things were heavy.

I noticed on ebay, guys are charging $35.00 for shipping a $12.set of valve cover gaskets,to Canada.Im wondering if they are trying to make there own profits on shipping cost.i use USPS ,Had some part shipped from Michigan $6.00.

Ya you see that alot. Really have to watch the shipping charges. Thats how some make their money. Cheap price on item but 5X the shipping charges.

Just like the "as seen on TV" products. They don't make their money selling you 2 for 9.99. They make it on the "just pay seperate S&H charges".

I heard that Fed Ex bought UPS out.
Now the new name will be FedUp

Time to change it (up)s then. The way things should work with shipping to keep this all above board is to charge what it costs. Driving charges and the like do not belong in our business of just helping each other out with things we need. Thanks.

So far, the USPS has lost parts and UPS hasn't....so far, no complaints with UPS and I've been using them for 15 years. I wonder if it makes a difference if you have an account or not? I do...

I've used UPS a lot and I haven't had too many problems with them. I've had a few problems with FED EX but they were taken care of. I just think that the UPS drivers know our local area better so there are fewer problems with them. I've had really good luck with the USPS shipping and receiving small stuff, plus the girl that does our route is a cutie. That always helps.:tongue11:

I never use UPS anymore... They lost both a centerlink (it did show up about 17 weeks later) and then they lost a leaf spring.... I ordered a pair of XHD leafs from somewhere and the UPS man showed up and only one was on the truck... when your company loses a 50lb leaf spring - you have problems.... I mostly use USPS or Fed Ex

UPS mostly & some Fed-Ex & some "if it fits, it ships" flat rate boxes/stuff from USPS, I've been fortunate really, never had much problem UPS, the UPS driver for our area/zone live across the street & 2 houses up the hill, I get great service...LOL... everything is expensive to ship from Sonora Ca. to almost anywhere...LOL... it's not the Big-shity oops I mean Big-City...

I use my local post office for the smaller items and fed-ex for the larger things. Haven't heard any problems from the people that bought things from me. As far as shpg prices go, I usually come close to what it cost and if it cost more to ship then what buyer paid i'll eat it, and if it cost less than what the buyer paid I will send a money order back to the buyer for the difference. They did have a show (dateline, 20/20) where they showed the delivery drivers just taking the packages and throwing them over the fence big screen t.v. or throwing them at the customer's door. That's what our money we pay for shipping is doing.

Ive worked for UPS for about 4 and a half years. They fund my hobby so I cant complain much about them lol. But yea, they are expensive and I know how stuff gets broken trust me. But USPS contracts UPS to process most of their smaller volume across the country, and I know fed-ex has contracted out our facility a time or two to keep with demand. UPS likes to add a "fuel surcharge" that goes up but never down. And Ive never had issues moving packages from companys, but some customers will throw stuff like knives and breakable stuff with no padding or securing in a box and let it fly. And sometimes when stuff gets lost, its because some idiot decided shipping fluid without a secure lid would be a good idea and it leaked onto other boxes. Alot of people also will put a new label on a box and not remove the old one, and it will go in circles till someone notices the second label. its chaotic on the inside ill tell ya what.

I ordered a part from the mid west on the 19th of Dec and it did not get here until the 9th of Jan. I called them and they said that it was because of the holidays. UPS,............. and I have had several things damaged by them.

That's amazing that it took that long. You would think they would have had things caught up by the 1rst of the year for holiday shipping. I have delivered and picked up at those warehouses that sort overnite freight, They only give us so much time to get from point A to point B but I don't know how long it has been sitting in the warehouse b4 they put it in my trailer.

I only had one incidence with them, I ordered a part from a member here, payed for it and waited, and then waited.. Finally Sean (member) Got in touch with them and found out it was lost.. I got my money back no problem, no fault of Sean at all, Then a little over two months later UPS showed up here with the part, I still needed it so i called Sean, He was as surprised as i was, so i sent him the money and the rest is history.. worked out in the end, just made us both laugh about it..
