Finding my 440 Belvedere runs a bit warmer then I would like.

The previous owner stuffed a 26" rad into the car but the rad support only has an opening for a 22" rad so it seems a bit useless and cobbled together. Also it has a set of flex-a-lite duel fans on it that are too small to cover the rad all the way to the bottom. Has about 3" of core with no fan/shroud. Again kinda cobbled together.

From what I can tell looking online these appear to be the flex-a-lite direct fit for Jeep CJ's. 2100cfm total flow.

I'd like to go to a 22" rad so it fits right and most likely a mechanical fan -prob a hayden 6 blade-

As far as rads go I am looking at two specifically. A Wizard Cooling direct fit with their aluminum mechanical fan shroud or a U.S radiator repro with a stock plastic shroud.

Prices are pretty similar. The engine bay has a black and raw aluminum look going on so I lean towards the aluminum myself. Opinions?

i have been using the 26"version from classic industries.$399.been happy.aluminum.2 1"tubes.direct fit with stock fan shroud mounts.i am not sure but it looks just like the us radiator model so maybe they build it.it's called a desert cool series.keeps my big block cooled fine.

Glen ray radiators look nice but the prices are too rich for my blood.

The car is not numbers matching or anything more then a nice street cruiser. Just looking to keep it cool.

Give Bob a call anyway. He can either hook you up with a used piece or even if you don't buy something from him, he'll steer you in the right direction.

go to the U.S. Radiator website. they have a bunch of options for a 22" radiator.

I've seen the options just curious on quality. Not a lot of reviews online.

Bob at Glen Ray beats my local radiator shop prices every time. I have got 7 radiators New or rebuilt from him, and 3 or 4 heater cores rebuilt.

Prices on the website are north of a grand must be some big discounts to be had to get it down around $400

Champion 3 row shipped to your door $240, check the b bodies parts section on moparts,it is where the guy advertises. No hassle return policy.

they're made by u.s. radiator.

Anyone else running a 440 or 451 with 22" rad and happy? I am swapping from small block to big block, currently have 22" and thought 26" was required no matter what.

i have two cars both with 440's and both with 22" radiators. one runs hot and the other runs cool. one has a 22" high efficency core, ceramic headers and very open under the hood for good air flow. this car never runs hot. the other has a moderate 3 row core, cast exhaust manifolds all that ramcharger/freshair crap under the hood and gets hotter than a $2 pistol. there's more to cooling than just the radiator size.

Spend the money and go with a 22 from wizard and upgrade the core size. Pefect fit and the quality is far superior .

I ordered my rad with shroud from Wizard on Monday. I went with the upgraded core as they recomended it too. Nice guys to talk to and very helpful. Their e-mail contat is really slow so it you are interested just call them.

Now I need to pick a new fan. I see flex-a-lite and hayden sell the same fan. Its a 6 blade non flex for clutch use. 7 blades seem to be tough to turn up.

When I swapped my 383 for a 440, I stayed with the stock rad and it stayed cool in summer. Not a problem.
