Hi guys I keep seeing the other professional sports related thread popping up and I'm wondering if there are any other rabid (or passionate) baseball fans out there. The season and teams are gearing up for the playoffs and it's a really exciting time and there's still plenty of great baseball left to enjoy.

I'm from Southern Illinois and grew up a St Louis Cardinals baseball fan and love being back home in SO ILL to enjoy seeing a game almost every night of the season.

Anymore Cardinals or other baseball fans out there?

Humble request: Please no discussions of what sport is better than another .. I'm hoping this will be a place for my fellow Major League Baseball fans to share their passion for their team, have a good time, and have some fun with rivalries not fight over which sport is better for what reason.

Who do you root for?

I root for the team that plays here GO CARDS !!!

Mariners fan here. I haven't always been a Mariners fan, but since it is the team that is shown every day that there is a game in this area, I have become a fan. I watch every game that I can(which is most). I have also been watching every little league world series game, anyone else been watching them? Kids playing just for the fun and love of the game, very exciting to watch.

Yes I've watched the LLWS occasionally and they are very good .. those kids know the game so well. I've also watched some of the Australian Baseball Classic or whatever it's called occasionally when I catch it, but I'm primarily MLB.

Thanks for chiming in ! Looks like there's not many baseball fans here unfortunately but maybe this thread will heat up come next month and October. I'm just hoping the Cards can win the division instead of vying for one of the WC spots ... that one game playoff with the Braves was a real gut wrencher last year and I know they are still understandably pissed about it :O

The Mariners are coming to STL in mid June so we'll be watching or listening to those games togethers brother. The Cards are playing the Braves for the last game of a 4 game series this afternoon which i'll be listening too out in the garage while I continue cleaning parts. I'm heading over to Busch to watch them play the Reds tomorrow evening with either the wife or one of my daughters.

GO CARDS!!!!!!!! life long Cardinal fan!!!!! This is my other passion besides Mopar. Back in first place!!!!

I used to be a Mariners fan back in the heyday of Griffey, Edgar Martinez, Jay Buhner, Etc. Can't get behind them too much anymore. I might watch a game if Felix Hernandez is starting but I think that his talent is being wasted on a team that has no offense. Too many players around or under under the Mendoza line.

Tigers looking good today!!!! we just need J V to start playing like we pay him!!

I'm a big fan of when the season is over, lol! Cardinals are my team, but I dont really keep up with baseball.

OK Tallhair - you got my attention!

Baseball is like Mopar - All American as apple pie!

I really like your picture - On opening day I tear-up every time I watch the national anthem sung in any ballpark. Time life made a series of videos called: The Golden Age of Baseball, I remember I cried when they showed Ebbets field being torn down.

My team is the Mariners, but they are loosing there a$$ this year, so I am rooting for the Dodgers, I really like the young kicka$$ rookies Puig and Ramierez, I also really like Aroldis Chapman for the Reds - I watched him last year and he never threw a ball under 100MPH, and did throw one 105 - he holds the record for the fastest pitch in MLB history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aroldis_Chapman

I am watching the Dodgers and Redsox right now... Sox are up, top of the sixth, Boston is ahead 4-1. :angryfire:

More later on BASEBALL...

It's been a great time to be a Tigers fan over the last several years and this one is no exception. Miguel Cabrarah & Max Sherzer are both doing things that only a very small handful have been able to accomplish and are both on track to set MLB records this season. The whole team is contributing and they are lead by the best manager in baseball.
Go Tigers!
