Hello everyone. first post, I just aquired a 68 Sport Satellite. I want to add a tach but would like to see pictures of where people have them mounted. any help would be appreciated.

you can get a factory original, thats what I did IMG_0123.jpg

looks great, can that be added to my existing dash? right now that location on my dash is blank.

Yes, There are a few companies out there that sell the in dash tach kit. You will be able to pull the blank out and replace it with the tach. Make sure you get the wiring harness also.

Another option if you aren't going for the original look is what we used to do in the 60s; Either mount it on the steering column with a large hose clamp or on the dash. I prefer the tach to be in my line of sight so I can keep track of where I'm going when the motor is humming...

Went "old school" on the column. But since I did it almost 20 years ago not sure if its old or just me!

Strap it to the Column. Use a rusty hose clamp. Do it in Honor of Galen Govier like I did.

On the column old school style in my 67.

Nice tach. I have the factory one in the same location but it is the only gauge in the entire cluster that does not work. I haven't diagnosed it yet. If I end up having to replace it, were the instructions set you got with the gauge good? How bad was it to install?

Tach

Since my car has a console, I picked this tach up for $75 on ebay

I believe the one wire goes over to the fuse box and the other one connects to the negative side of the coil. I think blue with a stripe to the fuse and black eith a stripe to the coil.

where did you get your steering wheel for your belvedere?

Like this a lot. Can you tell me what brand/model this?

it's a VDO brand tach...it's very accurate, only goes to 6,000 rpm, I didn't build the car to race, I built it to drive on the freeway...

if ya need a better picture, I can try and get one this weekend
