I am finally getting some progress on my project. The manual steering and front disc brakes are getting done. Next will be the 4:10 gear. I was thinking of replacing the axles. Is it necessary for an 11 sec(hopefully) car? Is Moser the only vendor for B-body axles, his seem like overkill. Car is '67 Belvedere with stock springs, drum brakes with Caltracs. Planning on using Drag Radials. Power will be from .030 over 440 with 727. Recommendations and suggestions appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!

There are alot of manufactures out there for axles. I am useing Winters myself. Even the mail order are selling cutsom axles now.
You will need the specs but since you already have your stock set you shoukd be good to go !

I ran stock axles in an 11.3 car, no problem. Broke lots of other parts, but never took out an axle.

Cool, thanks, I was thinking that I might just replace the bearings and run the stock ones until they break and replace then. Still have to get a spool though. Funds will dictate the choice. Happy Thanks giving!

We,ve run stock 8 3/4 axles all the way up to a 3700lb trans brake equipped 10.08@136 car. Never failed one. I have twisted the splines though. My 11.0@123 3900lb car ran them for years. That being said replacement are pretty cheap. I'd hate to break one. Both those cars have aftermarket now.

Thanks guys for the info. Will be ordering axles, spool, install kit, and m/c after Christmas. Feels good to find a vendor that understands MoPar!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all!

135.jpg I ran stock axles for years and figured I was on borrowed time so I went with Strange SS axles running 11.70s 8 3/4 3.91 with a spool in a 65 post totally shattered the left rear at 50 passes. Since I have 100 on mosers well worth the extra money. Now its the gears Im fighting, the housing is being backbraced as we speak flange to flange

Moser Engineering has many options with bearings stud size etc. Look at their website, nice stuff

I never had much luck w/the stock axles. Twisted the splines on mine so bad that we almost couldnt remove them and was only running 12.7. Went to a Strange Dana in 1988 for my Cuda. Car was running 10.8 then and is now low tens. Still have it in the car.
Dr Diff is a great guy I bought a Dana from him for my 67 Belvedere Wagon. The cost was min more than doing an all out 8 3/4.
