Running a 440 6-pack, Mopar chrome box ignition system. Mopar Purple .509 cam

The car ran fine then after sitting for a few weeks we go for a drive and it wont come to an idle and stay running.

To clarify if you start it it will idle but when driving as you come to a stop and the RPMs get below 2000 the engine will start to bog and hesitate badly then die. After the bogging starts it seems that the gas pedal does nothing.
Also when starting from a stop the engine will come off idle then bog and choke, but if i power brake it and keep the RPMs stalled up above 2000 it works. Running down the street and giving throttle seem to be fine as long as the RPMs are above 2k.

I lean towards something in the transition circuit of the Carbs has gone bad, but it has been about 15 years since i have worked on carbs so i could use some suggestions on what to start checking.
Could this be some bad plugs that can't burn a richer mixture at the lower RPM?

Also if anyone has a link to a good online link to how the Holley carbs work and such i would love a refresher, I have been computer tuning EFI cars for the past while so i have forgotten most of what i knew about carbs.

On the Holleys check the needle and seat O-rings for leakage, or the needle isn't closing due to dirt. They can leak (or stick open due to dirt) causing a flooding situation and that may very well be the poor response, non idle or sluggish performance you are experiencing. If the outboard carbs are wet inside from just driving around then it's flooding.

Thanks I will definitely check that out
