2014 4th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Make Your Picks and Light 'Em Up!

A lot of scrambling in the standings this week due to a lot of picks going out in the opening round of eliminations - and more followed in the second round.
Congratulations to 'Budnicks' (FBBO) for being "Top Picker Eliminator" for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals with an outstanding point total of 142.0. He picked the class winners in Top Fuel and Funny Car, and his Pro Stock pick lost in the final round. He also picked up the Speed bonus in Funny Car and the E.T. bonus in Pro Stock.
'ocdart' (FABO) came in as the event runner-up with a nice point total of 119.5 with class wins in Funny Car and Pro Stock; his Top Fuel pick lost in the second round of eliminations. He also picked up the Speed bonus in both Funny Car and Pro Stock.

NOTES:
1. 'super-bee_ski' (FBBO), 'StarGazer' (FABO) and 'DustedOff' (FABO) all returned for this event
2. 'moparn1' (FABO) and 'moparn1jr' (FABO) did not post any picks for second event in a row. Per game rules, their picks from a prior event were carried over to this event but they were again not eligible for any event bonus points. They will be dropped from the game if they do not post any picks for the next event. I hope they both return for the next event.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Steve Torrence, 3.776 during Round 1 of eliminations
Speed - Steve Torrence, 328.86 during Round 1 of eliminations

Funny Car
E.T. - Del Worsham, 4.051 during qualifying
Speed - Robert Hight, 314.90 during the final round of eliminations

Pro Stock

34th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Summer Nationals qualifying leaders:

At the start of Q1: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 29.24 inches, adjusted altitude 2,175 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

Q1
TF: J.R. Todd, 3.794; Tony Schumacher and Doug Kalitta, 325.30
FC: John Force, 4.077; Robert Hight, 313.00
PS: Erica Enders-Stevens, 6.528 @ 212.53
PSM: Eddie Krawiec, 6.852 @195.17

At the start of Q2: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 27.24 inches, adjusted altitude 2,175 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

Q2
TF: Steve Torrence, 3.765; Tony Schumacher and Doug Kalitta, 325.30
FC: Alexis DeJoria, 4.012; Del Worsham, 320.05
PS: Erica Enders-Stevens, 6.506; Rodger Brogdon, 212.59
PSM: Eddie Krawiec, 6.852; Jim Underdahl, 195.65

Only nine Top Fuel cars made it down the track during Q2 before Antron Brown had a little incident. Antron had a great looking pass putting him in the number two spot. Then as he crossed the finish line the engine let go with a big fireball and something took out the right tire. The car then hit the left wall and ricocheted across the track. The car got airborne and then hit the right wall back side first before it came back across the track coming to a stop against the left wall. He was out of the car immediately and was okay.
As the Safety Safari was cleaning up the top end the decision was made to call the race for the evening. The word was, due to the length of the clean up the dew would set in and it would be unsafe to continue racing.
No mention on NHRA.com if they will continue with the balance of Q2 tomorrow or start with Q3.

At the start of Q3: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 42 percent, barometer 29.43 inches, adjusted altitude 1,181 feet, track temperature 87 degrees.

Q3
TF: Doug Kalitta, 3.732 @ 328.86

PS: Erica Enders-Stevens, 6.495; Dve Connolly, 212.86
PSM: Eddie Krawiec, 6.852 @ 195.82
