2014 4th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Make Your Picks and Light 'Em Up!

26th Annual NHRA Kansas Nationals qualifying leaders:

At the start of Q1: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 28.90 inches, adjusted altitude 3,337 feet, track temperature 90 degrees.

FC: John Force, 4.021 @ 318.84

Note: I did not see any picks posted for this event by '64BEL', 'bobtile' or 'super-bee_ski'. I sent a PM to them this morning as a reminder. Their picks from the Southern Nationals last week at Atlanta will carryover to this event for round win points only. They will not pick up any event bonus points.

Looks like Q2 may have been rained out for tonight. The weather forecast shows a better than 70% chance of thunderstorms all day after 8AM on Saturday. The extended forecast shows a 40% chance of rain throughout the rest of the week except for Thursday when it drops to 20%.
It could take a while to get this race in - NHRA is scheduled to be in Englishtown, NJ, May 29-June 1 for the Summernationals.

At the start of Q2 (Saturday): air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 68 percent, barometer 28.83 inches, adjusted altitude 3,166 feet, track temperature 85 degrees.

Q2 qualifying leaders
TF: J.R. Todd, 3.747; Steve Torrence, 327.98
FC: John Force, 4.021 @ 318.84
PS: Vincent Nobile, 6.601; Erica Enders-Stevens, 208.81

At the start of Q3: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 67 percent, barometer 28.81 inches, adjusted altitude 3,281 feet, track temperature 88 degrees.

Q3 qualifying leaders
TF: Brittany Force, 3.746 @ 329.75

OOPs! I guess I'll take who I had last week. Feel better Bud!

Congrats to socaldart (FABO) for being the Top Qualifier at the Kansas Nationals with a real nice total of of 21.5 bonus points. He picked the #2 qualifier in Pro Stock and the #3 qualifiers in both Top Fuel and Funny Car.
memike (FABO), 6pk2goDemon (FABO), 67cudafb (FABO) and moparn1 (FABO) were all right behind with 20.0 bonus points.
Budnicks is the best FBBO qualifier this week with 19.5 bonus points. Way to go all!

Congratulation also to the entire John Force team! Brittany and Courtney are both #1 qualifiers in Top Fuel and Funny Car respectively, and John Force qualified #2 in Funny Car with Robert Hight in the #3 spot. Quite an accomplishment for all four drivers, crew chiefs and team members!

This week players picked:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a potential three head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers and one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between Ron Capps and Jack Beckman. Again, no Round 1 head-to-head matchups but two potential head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 6 different Pro Stock drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of 2 head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Of course, without any Round 1 head-to-head matchups there is always the possibility that all of our picks could go down in the opening round of eliminations! Wouldn't that be a bummer?

Good luck all!

John Force Racing Team in general, looks really strong so far...
Congrats to Courtney & Britney Force for #1 Qual. in F/C & T/F, then John & Robert #2 & #3

First, CONGRATULATIONS to Courtney Force for getting the 100th National Event Win for women drivers in NHRA competition! Well done!!!
And congratulations also to Mopar for again making the Pro Stock final round an all-Mopar event!

Last week after the Southern Nationals I said, "...a lot of scrambling in the standings again this week due to a lot of picks going out in the opening round of eliminations." Well, last week was nothing!
We currently have 28 players in our NHRA "Pick 'Em" game. This week each player made three driver picks. That's a total of 84 picks.
Almost half (39) of those 84 picks lost in the opening round of eliminations this week and got zero round-win points!
But this is a good thing because, historically, the game players will pick a wider variety of drivers the following weeks rather than always picking the same few names. I believe it makes the game more fun when we have more drivers involved every week.

Congratulations to 'bvt69dart' (FABO) for being "Top Picker Eliminator" for the Kansas Nationals with a very nice point total of 106.0. He picked the class winner in Pro Stock, his Top Fuel pick lost in the final round and his Funny Car pick went two rounds.
'67cudafb' (FABO) came in as the event runner-up with a nice point total of 90.0 with a class win in Pro Stock, his Top Fuel pick lost in the final round of eliminations and his Funny Car pick was one of those that got beat in the opening round of eliminations.
'Gpuller' was the top FBBO player this week.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

E.T. - Brittany Force, 3.746 during qualifying
Speed - Brittany Force, 329.75 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Courtney Force, 4.009 during qualifying
Speed - Courtney Force, 322.96 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Vincent Nobile, 6.601 during qualifying
Speed - Jason Line and Erica Enders-Stevens, 208.81 during qualifying
