Ok well here I go, This is my baby, I got her for double the price of what it worth! IMG_20140414_181244.jpg

IMG_20140302_132321.jpg It has the old 318 Poly, has some bondo, holes, leaks, and the interior is BLOWN OUT!Needless to say my wife is not a fan, oh well nothing to do now but prove her wrong. When I first got the car I figured, "hell a few weeks and I'll be riding" I just got a notice today from the city that I can no longer keep the car on jack stands in my yard....M!#@!er

Once I got it home I did whan any professional auto rest-orator would do "DRINK 12 BEERS GET HER RUNNING AND STRIP OUT THE INSIDE YAAAHOOOOO!
The next morning I realized that my wife may have been rite, but I will go down with the ship before admitting it! It had holes in the floor, all the electrical was jacked, the car was originally green, what little I had of the inside was gold/green rot.newbies 010.jpg

So what to do what to do... I KNOW! BUY A CRAP LOAD OF SPRAY PAINT AND GET TO PAINTING!
I painted the dash, doors, door panels you name it, I painted it, that Vinyl paint is the BOMB! I hand painted all the details on the dash.IMG_20140421_195142.jpgIMG_20140712_185225.jpgIMG_20140705_201247.jpgIMG_20140706_172327.jpgIMG_20140508_162039.jpg

I went Paint Crazy! I even cleaned the motor with a tooth brush and painted it! here is a before and afterIMG_20140302_132321.jpgIMG_20140522_104830.jpg

The console was a pain in the but, all them little lines, and that metal flake paint in the garage damn near killed me, do it outside kids!

I had fun repainting the rally rims, I used a bed liner satin krinkle paint, "I love It!"IMG_20140511_153950.jpg

I went through every wire, I purchased allot of stuff on B Bodies, never had a problem, I don't know how to post a thank you or good job yet, but I met some great mopar people!IMG_20140615_212755.jpg

All the rust spots I fixed I just touched up with White rustoleum paint, looks good and yes you can get it tinted!

I then put the thing on blocks and undercoated it. This job is a pain! I used a black and decker gravity fed electric sprayer...messy, very messy...IMG_20140524_193240.jpg be sure to tape off car well, you ain't getting it off! And I also soaked all the seat belts in R.I.D Black dye.

I am now out of money, and the car can be seen as a soar topic to some women in the house whom i will not mention but it's gonna be so worth it!

I hope this helped you at least know now what NOT to do! and as winter knocks on the door and the city prepares my citations, I shall regroup and launch my attack again in the spring.

NOW FOR YOUR HELP!

There's a guy on FABO selling a set of 67 B Body seats; he's from PA so shipping might not be too hateful. Here's the thread link: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=288360

Man, that looks like you are getting it done good! Nice project, nice year and model... Enjoy what your doing.... The best comes later headed down the highway! :)

All I can say for Taylor is, I'm glad I have a garage to work in, good neighbors who don't complain, and most importantly.....no wife! If I didn't have these things I'm sure working on my Mopar would be a pain, I feel for ya. As for the seats, I can't help ya there I'm still looking for seats for mine. Bucket seats are getting scarce. The little things you did on the dash made a huge difference, it came out great. Keep up the good work and get the car back on it's wheels so the city can't complain.

Welcome from Farmington MI, nice car and you're doing a great job, just keep plugging away at it.
Hope you find some seats.

There are a lot of Metro Detroit people here :)

I feel your pain.Sold my Dart, immediatley got on craigs list, found a 63 Belvedere, loaded the trailer, drove to Tucson, fought hellacious rain storms, car was not looking like the photos, bought it anyway, blew the front brake hose when putting it in the trailer, fought another down pour, blew a trailer tire, made it home, parked the trailer.Only opened the door once in 2 weeks.Didn't like what I saw, looks worse that when it was loaded. Now that I have it, found 4 more cars that I would have been better off with. Are we having fun yet ?? It's good to know of other MOPAR JUNKIES out there to rehab with.....
Thanks for the photos and keep up the good work.I'll be watching...........

Nice looking car and that dash came out really nice too. Keep after it and of it makes you feel any better my wife didn't like mine either but is more than happy to go for a ride in it now (they just can't see the end product like we can).

x2....keep at it your doing great.

Nice job, never let 'em see you sweat!

(From a transplanted Detroiter) :headbang:

I love what you have done. Don't worry, the wife will come good when you are fatting it down the highway.

Looks god to me.

Did I miss the part of the thread where you said you were a comic artist?

You nailed the features and proportions of that Coronet!

My personal opinion is that high backs will kill the 60's vibe of that car.
I've got seats from an 80's Dodge 400/600 convertible in mine and they look like they belong there.
They recline and have head rests, as well as a deeper bucket...
...but they look so much like the 66/67 seats, folks might not be able to tell.
...and you can still find them in junk yards if you look long enough.
Might not even need recovered....and they come in white.

Great story you made my day I'm going thru the same !! Funny I'm deep into credit card But when I fire my green meaney 65 coronet a smile comes to my face just love to rumble thu the gears

keep up the good work that dash looks great the engine looks great also keep us posted on your progress

Those are some great comics, well done! I think most guys can relate to the content, I appreciate you sharing those.
