Just thought I would post up something a little different here as we don't chat and discuss much about the foods we eat. Today out here in Northern CA we got a fairly decent, albeit still not enough, rain soaking. More up north of Sacramento but never the less we needed. So yesterday at my weekly grocery store run, I decided because today was going to kind of a not outside kind of day to render up a big pot of Ham, Potato, Corn Chowder. Started early this morning and rendered down a huge Ham Hock and then to work. Added diced Potato's and Corn after some Onions, Celery, and spices. It is now simmering slowly, Can't wait for the first bowl. And what is even better will be the Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich with it tonight and then tomorrow's re-heat of it...MMMMMMMM....Enjoy

Hmm just saw this but no pics. We had some huge grilled shrimp on the front porch for an appetizer. Followed with a nice inch and a quarter cut chuck eye grilled over cherry wood and hickory, baked tater and corn on the cob. With a captain and coke (heavy on the captain) for a cocktail.

This could be a good thread! I love cooking. I do all of the cooking at our house. My wife is a great prep cook, so it is a combined effort. But we love to cook together as a family. This is me and a dinner we did where we made Arancini Balls, very nice! My 16 year old daughter made the risotto and I did the rest. I have encouraged my daughter to learn to cook, so she does not end up like her Mother, who honestly can burn water! :) I am hoping that cooking is something she continues, since she is really good at it.

I still think men make the best chefs.

love the apron, Kiwi!! lmao!!!

My girlfriend just made a 9lb perdue oven roaster with ALL the fixins'. Lordy I needed a wheelbarrow to get out of the dining room!! Damn was it gooooood...

and now a Jack and coke (heavy on the jack).

Well dinner is long gone at this point. We ate simple tonight - BBQ Italian sausages on a bun with muffaletta mix and steamed French beans to help everything move along....now on to the next. Being a chef I love to cook and bake. I'm looking for a chocolate chip cookie that can kick ***. I made a batch of Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies. I eat one only and pass the rest to my buddies. Needless to say, my friends are like little kids when they see me with a foil package.

Corn flakes with water... But at least my car is getting done...

I'm certainly NOT Kiwi! ;)

But yep it's a great apron..

I saw that too....dragging me into a Mafia hit like that :rolling:

I had leftover Paella from last night....full of King Prawns....mmmmmmm.....too hungry to take pics :headbang:

Friday night I had New Orleans BBQ shrimp with rice
Saturday is was grilled Strip loin steak with mash & gravy. I did mine a bit different though. I got the idea to do an upscale dinner version of Hawaii's Loco Moco. I laid down a bed of rice(left over from Friday) sliced up a steak laid over top, then a fried egg, gravy on top of the whole thing.

Today dinner will be smoked back ribs with a greek style rub & mop, but haven't decided on the sides yet.

Had Subway last night. Tonight......who knows. It all turns to crap, anyways.

Tonight we are having the last piece of the highly endangered American Red Snapper (they are all over the place) that I caught a couple of months ago in the very short season. Fried, with maybe some grits and something else.

You guys have the dinner covered...But make sure to leave room for some Cake.....
