Repair your trunk Floor For about $20.00

Hey everyone well I was looking for cheap trunk pan to repair my raced out Superbee. It had a fuel cell installed when I bought it. This was a 10 sec race car. I decided I wanted to make it into a stupid fast street car so I removed the fuel cell which left a big hole in my trunk floor. I did find a trunk pan for sale but when I tried to order they said it was on back order. After sitting for hours looking at the pan I decided I could make my own. The sheet metal was about $10.00 and the Bondo with fiberglass was about $11.00. I do plan on adding a finishing coat of standard bondo but the pics don't show that yet. If you didn't know the pan should have ribs you wouldn't even know it was incorrect. I think it looks pretty good. DIY and save $$$$. Oh by the way, the welds were all butt welds and done with the 110 volt harbor Freight wire feed welder.

Yep. Solid pan. No reason to replace the whole thing anyway.

I have (3) HF welders here... Two 120 volt jobs... the older one (20 + years) is a Flux/MIG job, and the newer one is Flux core only. The third one is a 220 volt Flux/MIG unit that I use primarily for bigger projects with Flux Core. All great welders for GP use around the shop. The old 120 volt job has seen a lot of use over the years.
I have a 120 volt Longevity MigWeld 140 that I use for the thin stuff these days however. It has infinitely variable controls, which makes thin sheet metal work a little easier to deal with. The 120 volt HF unit works well too, but with only 4 settings to choose from, the final control rests with you and the torch.
 
Thanks. getting ready to do lower qtr and also lower the front floor pans 2" to 3" in my Challenger. Adding newer R/T seats but because of the power motors the seats sit too high for the car.
