I'm thinking about swapping out the "large" gas tank in my 75 fury sport with the smaller tank that allows for full dual exhaust out the back. Has anyone done this kind of swap? Any special concerns? Does anything else need to be changed or updated besides the tank itself?

No, should be a good fit.All hook ups should be the same,I just had mine out of a California 79 300. No weird vent lines or anything. Not sure if they make them new.If you find one please let us know.

I put full duals on my '75 RR with the big tank. No issues. Ran the pipe directly under the frame rails. Looks great.

I was looking for a new fuel tank for my '76 Cordoba. Rockauto.com lists a fuel tank under the '76 Cordoba 360 engine thread that says "with duel exhaust" and lists the dimensions. Hope this helps. I am assuming that being the same vintage B-bodies they would swap?

Smaller diameter pipe required for the Big Tank

Yes, you can have dual exhaust with the big tank but you have to use a much smaller diameter pipe if you want them to go straight out the back in the stock locations. With my 77 Cordoba with the big tank I directed the exhaust to the sides in front of the rear wheel. Looked cool...but I definitely want to go straight back this time on my Fury.

Yes, both tanks are readily available at most parts outlets....including Rock Auto. They have it listed under the Fury as well. Getting a tank isn't the problem. I just want to make sure that there aren't some other rinky dink parts, connectors, etc. to make this work that maybe aren't so readily available.

2 1/2 dia. pipes with tips. Will post a pic the next time I go to the garage.

It's a quick and easy job just be ready to make adjustments to your pickup tube. I discovered this the hard way when ran out of gas on the interstate with a quarter tank of gas left.

The spectra cr21a tank for my 77 Cordoba has prices ranging from $299 to over $500. Its a Canadian made tank that's made 30 minutes from me yet its cheaper to buy it in the US. Partsource wanted $740CAN for it!

I had to bend it down to get it closer to the bottom of the tank.

I just placed an order with Rockauto for a cr10B tank, ST222 straps, FG93B fuel sender to convert my 77 Cordoba large tank to smaller 20 gallon tank. $270 delivered.

All that is left is the filler grommet.

I have done it. My gas gauge now only shows about 5/8 full when the tank is full. I obviously need a different sending unit. The mechanic friend who did mine had a problem with the filler tube. I still have a hard time with putting the gas hose in because the filler tube had to sit higher under the license plate bracket. Any questions just ask

A couple questions....What car did you change the tank on? What brand tank did you buy? Your filler tube issue concerns me. I'm waiting for my tank, straps and sender to come in and I want to forsee any problems with the install. I still need a new grommet though.

I changed to the tank on a single exhaust 360 1975 Roadrunner. I used the tank that is sold at different places on the internet and Ebay. I may have bought from Jim's auto parts. It has been a few years ago so I don't remember exactly. We used the original straps and the original filler neck. The filler neck is just harder to access now under the license plate bracket. It could have been our install and that may not be any issue for anyone else.
