Paint booth fabrication is complete. Size adjustable, Configures to suit any space during assembly, easy assembly, well sealed, good intake and exhaust and an entrance door! Progress!
The slab door was a good idea. Just open the walk in door of the shop, stick the door in the opening and run the quick tube from the door over to the booth. Problem solved.

I've had a few good days of progress here on the 64 so it's time for an update for the guys following along.
I completed building my paint booth and it worked out real well The exhaust was plummed through an old house furnace fan, through a 10" quick tube and through the walk in door that the tube protruded through. For intake air I simply opened my attic hole and fit the opening with a filter. This set allowed me to paint without having to open doors whatsoever. The side door that I exhausted through is a side door in the fenced area of my yard, so none the wiser. Here's a the booth set up and ready to go.

With the booth ready to go it was time to paint. The booth moved the air well and there was no problem with any amount of overspray in the air. I also use a fresh air mask with a separate compressor for that so I was set to go.
Here is the end result of a good day of painting. The color is very fresh, not cured and the lighting is fluorescents through poly, so needless to say, it will be changing dramatically once it's in natural light. The color was chosen to go with the second tri-coat color, but that will be going on after the sheet metal is all back on the car.

Well HELL YA!!! That looks awesome and the paint booth is absolutely fabulous. That is some talent there, both in engineering and painting!
Hi FU64RY, I built the hoist 12 years ago and later I built the rotisserie attachment to fit the hoist. The arms just lay across the end braces on each end of the hoist and then hook under. Pretty simple, just set the length to where you want it and snug up the jamb bolts that on the hooks.

Yes 747, the poly paint booth is working well. There is no problem with the lighting coming through the poly and with both the air intake and exhaust at floor level there is no signs of dust to mention. For the few days and a few bucks that it took to whip this up, I wish I would have done this long ago. It all unbolts and all there is to store is 12' and less lengths of tubing. My door assembly though is the only piece that does not unbolt and break down to single lengths.So where I'm at now is that I have slid the booth ahead of the hoist, reconfigured it so that the intake, exhaust and door is at different spots and resealed with Tuck Tape. Once you tape it, it doesn't come apart. Having said that, the 6 mil poly is heavy enough that you can remove the tuck tape without the poly tearing. I actually removed the entire back wall piece of poly, slid the whole booth ahead and simply retaped it back on. And while it was off I folded the poly up to a nice compact size, good for storing. Yes the poly booth is good for us old school home build jobs!

A good day of painting today. Before starting the job I wiped off the poly walls and ceiling and washed the floor. Today's job complete with zero dust. Next job on the agenda is to get the next colour sorted out!
Friday the hood got painted and today I knocked off the deck lid. The plan for Sunday is to roll the Plymouth into the booth, wet sand the windshield cowl, mask and get that painted. Dark grey sealer, custom red and a coat of clear. Easier to do the cowl now before the fenders and doors go on, not to mention a time savings later. A little bit every day gets the job done!
Another step completed in the painting process today (Sunday). The Plymouth got rolled into my poly paint booth today as planned and the windshield cowl got painted and cleared. Definitely will make the final paint job easier. Will just sand the clear, then mask the cowl off until it's time to clear the entire car again. 
Next step, doors and fenders install and alignment!

Very nice! I'm anxious to see these colors together when you're all done, it's gonne look sharp!!!
Looks like it will be just about 6 months to the day from when I took the Plymouth apart to the day that I lay the new paint on. Right on schedule! 
I have the hood hinges on in this picture so that I can put the hood on to check and make sure everything is set right. Then the hood and hinges will come back off and masked up for spraying.

Today I got the black on, the pinstripe laid and the red base on. Trying to see that blue line tape on the black base coat was a real bugger, I hope it's straight! Guess we'll find out once the next colour goes on..

The second colour went onto the Plymouth today. Had to work around cool temperatures but all in all it worked out good. Amazing how these colours change in different light! Love using Glasurit products. Karat Gold & Obsession Red.
