I can tell just by the manifold that its a nelson racing engine. If you haven't watched a few of their videos on youtube...do so...I'd love to have some of their setups...some of the best engine building out there today I'd wager.

It sure is KB! I'm a big fan of their builds too. That particular TT 572 has a "build cost of 90k" and is now for sale for the bargain price of 53k I believe! Makes 2500 "necessary" horsepower though

**Disclaimer** the word "Horsepower" should always be preceded by the word "necessary" especially when in 4 digit increments! Fer Racin'

Buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just think of the utter chaos you could cause with that!

Holy smokes! That looks like something off Terminator 2

You aren't far off really! the technology in these builds are incredible. They use dual fuel injection systems to provide pump gas during lower hp operation and then depending on boost and throttle will open up tank #2 which runs race gas or ethanol. This way you can avoid detonation at high boost pressures/temperatures and still have daily driver manners with pump gas operation. He builds some pretty cool stuff and I enjoy his dyno videos. You just have to take the gratuitous F-bombs with a grain of salt.

Holy Cow there Batman ! ! !

I think the options are pretty easy to determine on this decision:

1) Sell the house so I can buy the engine ( which means I lose my shop where I work on it - I can sleep in the car )
2) Win the lottery so I can afford that picture of beauty and power
3) Opt out and stick with the 5.7 and get it running ( that can be Plan W - if I get that far . . . )

I think I'll have to go with Option 3 for now . . . darn, why couldn't I be rich and famous and just buy it ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ( Grrrrrrr )

Bawwhaha! Good to know you're dialed into reality Kahn. You could also go discover a sunken pirate ship full of gold or something:reading:

Never looked. ...no chance he'll ever see a dime frome me...I'd have to have a spare dime first.

Life gets in the way again . . . trying to make it out to the shop ! !

Now that the weather has taken a turn "upward", my plan was to get some tome in the shop ans work on the Belvedere . . . but life decided it had a couple more obstacles to throw at me first . . .

My mower - the electrical clutch has failed ( found it has no resistance ) and needs to be replace ( oh, and it's already grass mowing season here )

And the shoebox decided that it had to act up too, and throw yet another wrench at me too . . . the heater core is leaking . . . ARGH ! ! !

Got the heater box removed from the car . . .

sm_heatercore02.jpg

Here it is in all of it's trouble-making form . . .

sm_heatercore01.jpg

And from the bottom of the heater box . . . it's probably been leaking a while . . . and I've got antifreeze to clean up in the cab . . . ARGH

Too bad there isn't a "cheater" that would allow you to connect the hoses and not use the heater box - after all it's Spring ! !

Gotta get this fixed as the local Food Lion Auto Fair is coming to town next month and I want to drive the car there . . . time to get it fixed !

At the price that he's asking for those engines, that's a WHOLE LOTTA spare dimes . . . sheeesh . . .

Thanks Prop . . . I'll keep looking for that sunken pirate ship, but in the mean time I'm NOT going to be holding my breath for that to happen ! ! !

I know my luck . . . I've gotta just keep working hard to get the things that I would like to have . . .

even if I have to build them myself ! ! ! YEAH ! ! !

I bypassed the heater box in my RR for a while because I didn't have time or need for a new core. you can use a piece of U shaped hose or just cap them (mine were just capped iirc)

But if you've got the core out nows the time to do it right.

Sorry to hear about the interruptions Kahn but just keep pushing forward!

So THAT"S what my shop looks like on the inside . . .

FINALLY . . . made it back into the shop and got started back on the Belvedere . . . worked in the trunk . . .

Now I've really got to wonder about this . . . I spend SO MUCH time in the trunk and the engine compartment, and they'll rarely ( if ever ) be seen by the masses . . . sheesh . . .

Here's the progress that I got done . . . on the passenger side . . . Working on filling in the gap in the side of the trunk . . . got a bunch of the metal fab done, bent, fitted, clecoed, and just about ready to be welded into place . . .

sm_trunkworkpass01.jpg

The forward section of the trunk . . .

sm_trunkworkpass02.jpg

Had to take some time to work on this mess - the heater box in the shoebox ( gawd is that GROSS . . . that's NOT going back in the car that way )

Now, that is much better, I'll try and shoot some paint on it tomorrow and hope to get the replacement heater core so I can button it all back up . . .
Originally it was bare metal, but it's going to get some paint this time . . . might as well while it's all apart ! ! !

sm_cleanneaterbox.jpg

Now I've got to get back out into the car and clean up all the antifreeze that is sitting on the floor of the passenger side of the car. The good news is that the car only has dynamat down in the interior right now ( and a rubber floor mat ) . . . should not be too hard to get it clean.

Can't believe you're mowing already, I don't know whether to cuss you or laugh at you haha (the grass is still dead and yellow here).

I think its more laugh at him for having to do it for that much longer....and then he can return the favor when we get snow tomorrow night.....ppfft

Glad to see you back in the trunk. Gotta finish up that fine rear so you can get to the front.
