1157 versus cougar plasma balls

I tried the Cougar plasma lights in my 69 Bee, and nothing. Looks like I might need to get that flasher unit.

Nothing meaning they didn't illuminate at all or they lit up for driving and braking but when you tried to use the signals they don't work?

If it's just the signals then yes you need the flasher.... If nothing at all you have other issues

I finally got around to putting the flasher in yesterday and worked like a charm. I got mine off Amazon (was at my door the next day) but Summit has them as well.

Cheers!

Mike

Oh yea, my bad. Don't even light up. Tried the one side with both bulbs and nothing. Of course the 1157s work fine.

Yeah, I don't understand my car has no issues at all a friend of mine has a 65 satellite and has no issues, Very puzzling how some cars it works and some have a problem. Mine still has original wiring and original flashers and you can hear them clicking like normal. I only have them in my rear tail lights I have no other LEDs in the car.

Pretty sure mine's original wiring also, or at least from the looks of it. So annoyed.

Okay I just went out and put one 1157 bulb in one side and the LED on The other side didn't work put the other LED back in and it works fine

So I only tried one side with the LEDs in. Maybe I need to have all 4 LEDs in for this to work......

Oh brother!!! Put all 4 plasma LEDs in and driving/brake lights NOW WORK!!! Flasher doesn't work, but just ordered the flasher unit from Jegs. Just need to remember to manually work flasher in the meantime.

Okay were getting somewhere, still don't understand why your flashers don't work

why do my flashers work?
Here's a thought I also have fender mounted turn signal indicators maybe with those it has sufficient draw? They do aluminate/blink when the flashers are on.

Ok, my fail again. My rear blinkers do work. So the Bee's all good with the Cougar plasma LEDs!!!

Dayam.....was thinking I was about to read about getting some plasma balls..... :(

I bought the same one's from the first post in this thread http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?79285-Illumination&highlight=halo

BUT!!!

If you look in my thread Post 428 here: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopar...oon-s-project-angrybird/page22&highlight=halo

You will see the one's that Wookie has and recommended are much cooler than mine because they can change colours or flash patterns! If I had seen his first I would have got those!

I'm having a bit of an unusual occurrence with the taillights and parking lights. The drivers side front and back is noticeably brighter than the passenger side. LED's are more sensitive draw so I'm going to try and get a meter on them sometime this week and see if there's a difference in the juice each side is getting. I'll keep this thread updated if I find the issue.

So the meter indicated the draw was 12.26 at each which was fine. When playing with the bulbs in the back they started to even out and it was determined to be a grounding problem from the bulb inside the socket. Got the rears set up fine and was having a similar but more serious issue in the front where it was now noticed the lamp would go into full illumination when the housing touched the bumper which is why the drivers side was so bright. Ended up being a problem with one of the Putco's just not fitting the socket properly and was stuck in so bad it separated and broke coming out. So halogen 1157's are back in and I am now going to try a different set of LED's for the front

If it helps anyone I needed one of these for my signals:

Got mine hooked up yesteday thanks to 68GTX, just like he said my old flasher was square on on the outside of the ashtray drivers side. My wrist is still sore from having to bend it that way to change them out. The no load flasher above works great!
