Looking to put a mopar performance 426 hemi into my 1973 charger. I just can't seem to find an aftermarket k frame or motor mounts. Budget is about 35k just for the swap, and that includes the engine, trans, and read end assembly. Do I just use a B/RB k frame with hemi swap mounts? Or do I have to buy a custome k frame??? I cannot find either... thanks.:eusa_doh:

Use standard k frame, go to firm feel or mega parts for K member reinforcement kit. Schumacher for spool motor mounts and decide right away if your going with headers then buy TTi, which are the only ones that fit properly. Second choice is manifolds which are just fine for street car. Nix the 2x4 carb idea unless you don't mind head aches with carb adj. Use a single 950 Holley or Quick fuel carb. Also you will need a skid plate and wide oil pan from Milidon unless your getting one with motor.

Schumacher doen't make an LA to Hemi or B/RB to hemi swap mounts that I can find. The closest thing I could find was '73 and up Poly Spool B/RB replacement kit. Are these what you're talking about? I also see that firm feel sells reinforces k frames, but only for cars up to 1972. Couldn't find any for '73 and up, or kits to reinforce the stock k frame.

All the rest of it I can obtain fairly easily such as the stronger transmission, hemi radiator, etcetera. I guess right now I want to install a TCI streetfighter torqueflite 727 w/ gear vendors overdrive, and a brand new rear end dana 60 rear end assembly from classic industries, I also want to install MSD ignition and Atomic EFI to make fuel mileage a little more enjoyable. With EFI and overdrive, I think a hemi should get much better fuel economy. But my dream is to have a hemi in that car - witch I'm determined to do.

no one to my knowledge makes a swap mount kit...though it wouldnt be too hard to make your own. just use some steel plate and the urethane spool style mounts. best of luck

Ya I don't think anyone makes Hemi conversion mounts for the 73-up K-frame. Probably going to have to fab some up.

I guess I'd better start practicing my welding skills then.

I see that they make Gen III Hemi conversion mounts for 73-up B's but not Gen II.

I'd like the idea of having a modern 392 / 6.4 SRT hemi, but I think it'd be a pain in the @ss to set up all the electronics and sensors and what not.

If my plan w/ a hemi doesn't work out, I could always just drop in a mopar performance 440 super commando small block crate motor. Heck, that's just tempting with an advertised 530 hp and 540 lb-ft torque.
