Hyrdgoon's - project angrybird

While going through the front end and "Making room" both my inner fenders were a little wrinkled and not quite in their original shape from whatever front end collision my car had suffered in the past.

Ordered 2 new inners and this is what I got. Brand new and was given option of American or Taiwan so of course I went American... this is disheartening that anyone could sell this

I think we're just going to make our own aluminum headers since the under hood theme is "racecar" anyways.

Here's a pic of the new Crossmember. Nice and Beefy. They also did a nice job on deleting the 4 speed hump with the new steel but I couldn't get a good pic.

For anyone on Instagram you can get better updates than I can share if you follow driven2performance

Wow, love the crossmember! Those are horrible inners, they didn't look that bad in the pic you sent me earlier but on the big screen I can see what your talking about.

That crossmember looks smooth goon. I might have to build another one. Lol. This should turn out flat out awesome.

Not much new to report. This is how the car currently sits. You can see the 4 speed hump has been removed and filled. Also took a pic of my rear wheel well since this is the first time I've seen it not caked with grease!! lol

The car will hopefully be off to paint soon and the underside is going to get a rubberized product from a company called Wurth. Similar to lizard skin it will provide insulation as well as bounce protection.

Great progress Goon. Good choice on the inner fenders. Cross member looks great also.

Picked up the AMD inner fenders today.... MUCH BETTER!!! Also grabbed my new mufflers. 9" Black Widow Race Venoms, hopefully the sound good and aggressive... If not I'll just go back to my Ultraflos

Spent the afternoon underneath the car degreasing. They really layed it on under there but it has resulted in a really solid car underneath with the exception of the trunk pan which is getting swapped out anyways.

Hopefully by the end of the week the car is on a dolly and ready to go to paint!

Goon . . . the car is going backwards ! ! ! But I love to follow along with you on your upgrades - the car will be incredible when it's done ! !

Or is that S-D-R-A-W-K-C-A-B ! ! !

Hahaha you know it Kahn!! Sometimes you gotta go backwards to go forwards!

Making a whole bunch of things right that behave bugged me about the car!

I'm glad to see you getting it taken care of, just the difference in handling alone will have you grinning ear to ear but then there's the supercharger and 6 speed!!! Grinning is an understatement but one things for sure if it wasn't FER RACIN before it sure will be now haha Mines just getting air conditioning:icon_cry:

Man the guys you have working on that are really getting after it. Makes me jealous. Doing it all yourself seems to take forever with a full time job on the side.

X2...ain't that the truth!

Gonna be one nasty bird.

They are but that also meant that I damn near threw up last week when I saw the first labor invoice.

There's so much more to be said for doing it yourself unfortunately I don't have the patience or skill so I just try to bust my *** at work to keep the labor paid for.

Not much work for me this week so I spend time in the shop getting after all the little things to save myself money. I will admit though it's nice knowing that I'm in my car driving and enjoying every season... hard to put a price on that

That's for sure Goon. I've always worked all the OT I could and made sure I was buying parts so when I did have the time, the parts were already there for me.
I'm sure that labor bill was a good one. But you will forget about it when you do your first burnout.
Are you going back the same color?

Yes staying Orange. Paint is in great shape just need to get rid of the Black airgrabber stripes since I'm going with a 6 pak hood now.

I definitely want to see a vid with the black widows. I am still thinking about picking some up too...

There definitely will be video.

Where I goofed was looking at the Pro Venom's first which are 14" so I assumed the Race Venom's were 14" as well.... NOPE! 9" !! Guess it's gonna be a bit more on the loud side. Black Widow claims no drone so here's hoping it sounds MEAN but still drivable. I'm not going to sell my UltraFlo's till I know I'm happy with the RV's because they really are a nice muffler

Car will look mean with 6 pk hood! Got my LM-2 yesterday, nice piece. Can't wait to try it!

You gotta be going nuts..how will it handle... how fast will she be..how will she sound etc etc...but you know all that won't matter ....once the pedal hits the floor!
