OK I know we have been through this before but there has to be a sure thing remedy for frickin mice. I must have put over 30 sheets of dryer softener fabric in the interior and glove box and the trunk. It doesn't work. Can you believe one of them bastards even took a **** on the fabric sheets. The car will mostly sit outside do to over crowding in the garage so I am looking at anyone out there who may have a solution.

Well they are velvety smooth. :D

Moth balls I hear works well....
But ya could also get a cat or attract a stray to your property by putting some cat food outside.. i had some sort of field mouse (vole I think they're called) digging tunnels in my front yard, as soon as the snow melted I had a maze of tunnels in my lawn :BangHead:

Funny but true story. Long ago I had a camper that I needed a place to store. Really, never to use again. Anyway, I took it out to a friend's farm. It sat there for probably 5-10 years. Never thought twice about it. Then one day it got toppled in one of our wonderful chinook winds. So we stood it back up and I decided to have a look inside to see if anything was wrecked. Now, the first thing I found was an old Ironman watch of mine, that was still keeping time. That was pretty cool. But then I opened a cupboard and found a 6 pack of buttertarts (cheap store bought ones). Not anything unusual about that other than sitting on a farm for 5-10 years and not even nibbled on by a mouse. Once that dawned on me I had a good look around. There wasn't a single mouse **** in the camper. Reason, 20 or so cats. 3 or 4 house dwellers and a bunch of farm guards. Kinda blew me away, but I saw it with my own eyes. I am now down to one cat at the acreage here, but we have no mice in the house or my shop. Every once in a while we find half a mouse at the steps though. Offerings from the mouser / master!

The last cat I had (black cat yellow eyes) was a straight killer I would hear her out scraping in the middle of the night but be back every morning with a present for the family.

Well I guess we give the moths balls a shot.I think the coyotes would take care of the cats but then again i thought the snakes would have taken care of the mice.Too many eagles I guess probably taking care of the snakes.Hard to keep it straight.

Yeah a good hunting cat goes a long way. Had a cat several years ago that caught one in the house and brought it up to our bedroom to show off it's catch. Man that was an unexpected wakeup. Our current cat, a Calico, she is an amazing hunter. Birds, voles, mice, even an occasional rabbit too. I was working in the back yard last summer, there was a squirrel on the ground under the bird feeder and then I saw Harley slowly sneaking up behind it. I don't know how that squirrel got away from Harley. Hell, another day last summer I was out in the garage, right around dusk and heard some commotion on the porch. I went over there and she had caught a BAT right out of the air and carried it to the porch. It had gotten away for a second and she managed to grab it again. That one scared me, I was worried about her getting bitten. I got her away from it and the bat was laying on the ground and I thought she killed it. I went inside to get a container to put it in and when I returned it was gone. Thankfully Harley was fine. So yeah get a cat around there.

Not sure if you have them in WI but I maintain a healthy population of Bullsnakes around the property. Haven't seen a mouse in years plus they kill rattlesnakes.

Totally maintenance free too. The only problem is that they scare the hell out of you if you encounter one unexpectedly. We have one around here that is ~6' long and about 3" in diameter. We affectionately call him "El Toro".

Yes we have Bull snakes and Black Rat snakes and Rattle snakes in the bluffs where I live.

Mothballs keep everything away, including me. Gotta be a better way.

I use sticky traps on the floorboards…works well, bugs, spiders, mice, etc, all visit, but never leave….pretty ugly come spring….A tray of death.
