What is Pro Street today?

Pro street:

Hemi-itis's ride could be defined pro street couldn't it?
Go ahead, shoot me, but i find the Camaro visually pleasing,,,,& neither Camaros or pro stock are on my normal pallete of taste. I catch mine in the canyons. Different playbook.

The reason I brought this topic up was to see what people are classifying certain cars as.
My 66 satellite is getting closer to being done and more and more I find myself not really being able to convey the scope around what My car is built around without going into a long winded explanation.

So would I be out of line telling someone I'm building a Pro Street Satellite?

For those who don't know this is a low ten second car 315/60-15 M/T Pro radials on 12" wheels, skinnies up front, 6 point with swing out bars, fuel injected, -1 Indy headed, big solid roller, 4500 stall dynamic converter, 4.10's, and a GV overdrive.

So if not pro street, What?

I would say that's a fair statement. I would describe mine a retromod. I wanted it to look old school, with a touch of prostreet & protouring.

Old school mods.
Six pack intake & hood, Dana 60, stock interior, factory looking wheels or nostalgia wheels.
Prostreet mods.
Mini tubs, nose down stance, disc brakes, alum head & roller cam, call tracs.
Pro touring
AC, overdrive, borgsen steering box, Viking double adjustable shocks, alum radiator, poly suspension.

I think Pro street or Restomod would be appropiate, I lean a little more towards the Pro street just because of the ET.

Big thing about true pro street was the excess. Yours I'd say is Pro Street but with more reasonably sized tires.

speaking of reasonable sized tires why doesn't anyone make a 325 or even better a 335 x something 30"s tall. Seems with more and more companies offering mini Tub kits these days, not only for mopars but ford and chevy too, tire manufacturers would get in line to provide something bigger then a 315 but smaller then 16.5x32.

Even with tubs the frame will only allow 29x15.50 x 15 M/T's under the Coronet. I say only, but that's 15 inches of section width and 13 inches of tread width.

At the time I would say we where running about the same in the mid to low 10's.
Al gone well into the 9's since then. He's a dedicated tuner and can cut a hell of a light.

Dang, how much tire's enough!
Right. I'm not sure i'm going to use that size as it really fills the wheel well to the limit. I will likely use the next size down to not rub.
