Craigslist ads and morons who just don't get it.

So I have a little Toyota pickup on craigslist. I have had so many calls from idiots who apparently have not or cannot read the ad. So I revised my ad to help out people that are either blind or learnin... deficient. Anyhooo here is my latest email from a potential buyer. I will post a link to my ad just for the sake of reading it.

Wow, how awesome. If you posted stuff on craigslist and get messages asking how much, does it run and various other stupid questions you would be blunt too. Sorry you lack the brain power to differentiate making it clear to people from being an asshole. That's on you. Not me, if you can read then there is no problem. But apparently you can't understand that it was intended to piss off morons.. Well I guess I succeeded. Have a great day and I'm glad it's a mini truck and not a F350 because that might hurt being up my ***.

Instead of posting the link to the ad here is my ad in a nutshell.

IF THIS AD IS UP I HAVE THE TRUCK.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 1500 DOLLARS DO NOT CONTACT ME.

I WILL NOT TAKE LESS. I DO NOT NEED TO SELL THE TRUCK.

IF I DON'T GET 1500 FOR IT I WILL KEEP IT AND REPAIR IT MY SELF.

READ THE AD THEN MAKE A DECISION. DON'T WASTE MY TIME.

THE TRUCK NEEDS THE HEAD GASKET REPLACED. IT DOES RUN BUT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED.

I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma I bought to repair. I do not have time to get to it any time soon. Its a 2.4 5-speed has good tires interior is in ok shape. Needs the head gasket replaced. I have the new gasket set and new head bolts ready to go. I would also have the head surfaced. I just don't have time right now to do it. The truck currently runs and is drives but with the head gasket leaking I would drive it onto a trailer. The hood is in horrible shape and I planned to get a new one. But have not.

It needs work but would be a great commuter truck or something just to make depot runs. If I can't get 1500 for it I will just keep it. I will not take a dime less. That is what I have in the truck right now.
Tool box and ladder rack are gone. So please take note they are not included.

It has over 200k miles. So if you can't understand that don't bother talking to me. ITS A USED PICKUP TRUCK NOT A SHOW TRUCK.

But realistically, BeepBeepRR, you should post a more positive ad. There are cool people looking for a Truck like this, but your ad is gonna scare them away.
And, I gotta tell ya...FORD TRUCK PEOPLE are the cheapest SOBs on the face of the earth.
I sell gobs of CL and get so frustrated with the idiots who ACTUALLY show up and tire kick, then leave.
There goes another hour of my life I can never get back.

This is why I dont even sell anything anymore. It's such a waste of time dealing with the general public.

For a 96' with a blown head gasket that's a smokin deal. If I had the money and lived closer I'd buy it since I've done about 6 of those head gaskets on my old truck(It was turbo'd and pushed to it's limits).

The truck runs great when the cylinder isn't full of water. I guess I'll just fix it and give it to my 16 year old.. I just need to get around to it. The truck has dents and dings and is in no way a pretty truck. It is what it is a beater.

They arnt that hard to do. Leave the intake on, disconnect the exhaust manifold, Zip tie up the timing chain, get the 1 bolt that's always submerged in oil, loosen and remove all the head bolts which double as the rocker arm bolts, lift head off.

One time we didnt even move the head enough to clean the surface! haha, pulled the old one, cleaned/wiped down what we could and threw it back together. 3-4 hours tops. haha

I will get the head resurfaced. If its my kid driving it it will be done right. But If I was just going to send it down the road with a tail light warranty I would probably do that.

Has it ever overheated? I ask because you say the head gasket is blown, and you still drive it (some?). You can buy a NEW head for not too much. I sell them for $315 + shipping. This is a new head with a new cam. If you choose to use yours, when you get it off of the engine, see if you can spin the cam by hand. It should spin freely, and easily with your fingers. Leave the 3 cam caps tightened to test this. If it does spin, clean it and have it surfaced, but is you cannot turn it or is tight, you will need to have it straightened first. Then a valve job, and finally surfaced. You also need to make sure the coolant passages (look like eyebrows) on the exhaust side. They are usually corroded excessively due to electrolysis. If your head needs all of this, to include the possibility of cracks, this makes a new head very reasonable. If you have any questions, either post or PM me, and I will help the best I can...

I have heard all kinds of stuff. Then they give you the sob story of I have to pay to tow it.. Well not my fault you want it pay my price and towing.. I'm not paying for you to buy my truck. However buying a car from say, one of these guys in another state and having to pay for a company to ship it to you is another story.

I know your pain I had a guy email me about 10 times to tell me the car I had forsale was the ugliest charger ever made its not worth but $500 at 500 wheel h.p. it wasnt fast enough for him he said why buy this p.o.s. when he could buy a new hell cat! He went on and on. I finally got his info name address ect. And sent it to him in an email with a picture of one of my guns! He got the hint! People are so stupid I rarely bother to us c.l. anymore and!
