Just put a speed demon carb on my 63 polara using their dual line braided connection kit. I have never worked with braided or AN fittings before so please bear with me.

The original metal line from the tank is flared with a fitting on it that screwed into another metal fitting with a very stiff section of 3/8 hose on it which then went on a barbed fitting at the carb.

The way the new connections work out there is no way for me to flex the rubber line backwards towards the firewall as it kinks, so I cut it and barely got it connected to the barb that came with the demon kit, only for testing. It would not hold on the road for sure.

If you look at the pics you can see the metal line from the tank with it's fitting, and in the other photo the rubber hose and fitting that connected to the metal line. The fitting on the rubber hose section is marked - 6 but it definitely is not fitting any of the AN 6 fittings in the demon kit.

What I would like to do is adapt the metal line to connect to the carb directly with some sort of adapter, or if it has to flex some then some more flexible braided or rubber hose and adapters?

The problem is I have no idea what adapters to get that will fit on both the metal line and either the barbed connector in the demon kit or the AN fittings directly. If anyone can steer me towards the right size connectors and/or adapters to use I would really appreciate it!

The down and dirty way is to slide the fitting back on the metal line and slip a piece of fuel hose on with a clamp (use the solid fuel injection style clamp) and connect that to the barbed fitting. The hose will slid over the flare on the metal line and clamping behind that flare will anchor the hose.

Yeah that will be my last resort, had to do something similar on my Javelin. Just wish I knew what the - 6 on the rubber hose fitting meant compared to an AN -6 fitting

How about this: Earl's 165156. Jegs and Summit sell these.

So how do those connect to the hard line? Does it have to be cut and reflared? Like I said I am new to the whole braided line and AN fittings world. Thanks for the suggestion!
