How much to cut?

Got all the stuff to convert to PS in my 68 Runner. I know it has been done before, so how much do you trim off the manual shaft ?

To convert the other way, the adapter is about 4" long. The easiest way to do what you want is to get a power steering column assembly. All you should need is the shaft, so you can reuse/rebuild your existing housing assembly.

Since the columns are collapsible, when I went to ps from ms, i just pushed the end of the column up into the outer part, and hooked it up. There are plastic pins that hold the two inner pieces in place. Mines been done for 2 years. No issues.
