Well I knew I was pushing my luck with 6k miles in Arizona without a rock to the windshield. The Coronet glass was not original but it was likely installed in the 70's. I took a rock yesterday and put a 1/2" crack around the chip. Anyone used the auto parts repair kits on old glass? I could get a professional to do it for real (maybe) but it is not worth the cost.

Jim

Arizona auto glass (AAG) sealed a really bad chip on my mustang windshield for free. So far, so good (that was 3 years ago).

I just question if they would want the liability of dealing with 40 year old glass.

That's why it was free. No receipt no guarantee.

40 year old glass can be repaired like glass today.

Ask around Jim, Our chip guy comes by the shop when we call him for $50 per car.
We have had him fix old and late models both.

My limited knowledge is that a “bullseye” can be repaired with the ‘injector stuff’ ; if a crack/s are radiating out from the circle then no.
