64 Tail lights for what trim level?

The chrome trim versions that everyone is attributing to the Polara 500 were not necessarily only found on the 500 version. I have a base trim '64 Polara Anniversary version which has the full chrome trim tail lights and the chrome strips on the trunk and hood. Bench seat, 383 4 speed, 3.23 SG car.

However, I re-wired my lights and converted them to sequential blinking lights just to be different. They're not cleaned up yet but will be before going back on the car.

I've seen a few pics with three reds and really like it that way!

Centerline ... I have been toying with the idea of sequential blinkers ... care to share your solution in a PM? Thanks ...

Actually its pretty easy. You need to rewire the backup light on each side and change it to a two wire socket and of course change the lens to a red one. Then for about $70 you can pick up a set of these from http://www.webelectricproducts.com/. They're very easy to hook up and that's it.

Yep i like that idea but i only have the 440 sonleaving it alone.

The tail lights ORIGINALLY posted in this thread are for Canadian cars. The ones with full rear of car chromed die cast are for Polara and Polara 500 models ONLY. ALL 1964 Dodges were “Anniversary” cars, it was 50 years of production. Parts get switched over fifty years because of damage or personal preference. If your 440 model Dodge has the 500 tailights, somebody added them. Wasn’t built that way.
I have edited this post! Pics to follow...

Seems unusual though that every single polara (non 500) I've seen either in pics or in person has the full bezel.

Exactly. Mine is NOT a 500 and it has the hood and trunk trim along with the full width chrome tail lights. It was painted anniversary gold and had the split bench seat and standard Polara interior with none of the "Polara 500" interior trim. So anyone who says the full width trim and the three lights per side was only for the Polara 500 models is just plain wrong. Since we know the version the OP posted was for Canadian cars, it seems that if backup lights were ordered you got the full width chrome trim on US cars.

That’s not correct either! Polara or Polara 500 ONLY have the full die cast trim. Reverse lights for 330 and 440 models were next to liscence plate. For U.S. cars

Here’s pic from the 1964 Chrysler Parts book. B-body Dodge was available in four trim levels. 330, 440, Polara, and Polara 500. Price class low, medium, high, and premium. L,M,H, and P

Here’s the trim part in question. Note the application for these. Dodge VD1-H, 2-H,P
that’s 6cyl Polara, and V8 Polara and Polara 500. (No 6cyl 500)

And here’s the 330, low price line ‘L’, and 440 medium price line, ‘M’.
So this puts all the speculation to bed!

Finally someone got it right thanks.one thing for sure if its a 64 model you could get what you wanted clear down to the hub caps.

I was responding to a previous post that stated only the Polara 500 received the full chrome trim for the tail lights. I did not address the 330 or 440 models in my comment so inferring that I was wrong is not an accurate statement.

“it seems that if backup lights were ordered you got the full width chrome trim on US cars.”

Not saying anyone is wrong, just that this isn’t really correct. Don’t take it any other way. If you ordered a Polara, or Polara 500, you got reverse lights with the full die cast trim. And 330 and 440 models got them by the liscence plate if ordered.

The back up lights were not necessarily by the license plate. Any that I have seen were always between the 2 red lights..
