Opinions??

Lizard skin or not?
Not a show car or numbers anything.

I’m thinking the ceramic & sound deadening.

Thanks,Joey D

it's a little pricey and requires some prep....... but I like it

I used both. Not on the road yet, but was user friendly going on.

When I did my 64 Dodge, I used " Boom Mat" Easy to apply to a clean floor, effective, and doesn't stink. I also put it on my inner door skins. Best bang for the buck IMO...................MO

I used spray dead with a sound deadner gun. Some reviewers had issues with adhesion but mine has been on for over a year with me sliding tools and parts across it with no problems. Cost is about 1/2 of lizard skin.

I researched sound deadning quite a bit for some work related projects, from what I found you need to trap air to do an effective job of quieting the interior. I believe the mats, Lizzard Skin and simular products deaden the metallic sounds like rocks, vibrations etc but not much in the way of sound. I just sprayed my floor with a 2 part bedliner then bought insulation off of Summit?? The price that want for all that other stuff is crazy IMO.

Whatever I decide to put on my car, I always think about the future when Me or someone
else has to take it off for a repair. Lizard skin might be a good product but it's got to be
a bitch to take off. Just my $00.02!

I used Phat Mat that I bought on Amazon. Can't remember what I paid but it was pretty reasonable per roll. It seems to do the job on sound deadening and heat reflection. My 494 is a pretty loud machine.

Yep. If it's prepped right it ain't coming off. Good thing yep. Bad thing yep if you got to go back into it. It worked for us for both vibration noise and sound.

Nope. No bed liner type products for me. Once it's on there, you are stuck with it.

I have BOTH the heat AND sound products from Lizard skin in every nook and cranny you can possibly spray it in to on my GTX. It was applied while we had the car on the rotisserie so we could access every place fairly easily. It is awesome!. It is quiet and the interior temp is very comfortable and easy to not only get to where you want bit but stays consistent with minimal temp adjustment to the HVAC controls. It IS a bitch to get off! Be sure to tape any studs or bolts BEFORE you spray! I would use it again in a heart beat!

Did you apply it inside your door skins or where your interior door panels go?.............................MO

Yes, it is everywhere you cannot see! The doors are very quiet and solid sounding when you close them. It accepts paint very well also.

I made my own lizard skin. It’s amazing - interior is much cooler and quieter. My car has a 451 with 3” exhaust that dumps before the diff - freakin loud. Used to be so loud that I couldn’t talk on the phone at all (kind of a good thing!) The other day my wife called while I was cruising at 3000 rpm. She couldn’t believe how quiet the car was. We could have a normal conversation.

And I only did the floor board so far. Originally cost me $70 in materials, but since I only used half - we’re talking 35 bucks.

Check it out.

Home made or not, it will be a great touch that produces better results because you can get it into places you can't effectively get to with any peel and stick type product. Awesome idea to make your own. I never knew you could. I could see mixing the beads with epoxy primer and applying that way.

Yeah the lizard skin’s base coat is latex, so that’s what I used.
