Watching the BJ auction on Motortrend and with the advertising it looks like Kindig-it is going to cut up a 67 R/T. Two part season finale starting next Tuesday.

Hope they make it bad ***! Overall I think they do some outstanding custom work. One of the shows I look forward to watching.

I ditched my satellite TV years ago, Bitchin Rides is the only show I really miss. By far my favorite car show, they have incredible talent, great taste and have fun building the cars.. very enjoyable to watch without all the ignorant drama.

Don't they still have some dude with the flat bill hat pulled down to his eyeballs?

Uhhh, no.

I hate it when they cut up an original R/T. Someone cut up this original 70 Charger R /T to build the Daytona stock car project that I have back in 2004. Now a days, AMD sheet metal could have been used insted of destroying an R/T.

I saw the commercials for that too. They do some good work, and I agree that I appreciate that they don't add all the made up drama of a lot of the other shows. Iron Resurrection and Garage Squad are some of my other favorites.

I'm curious what they will end up doing with the '67 R/T. Those have a long look to them anyway.... Seems like chopping it would make it look even longer.

I was in their shop late last year and the '67 did not appear too radical at that time. It was only in primer though so I don't know at what stage it was in.

I saw part 1 and so far it looks like a pro-touring style build with a Hellcrate, some massive tires and 24+" rims on the back. They cut out the floor completely for a full chassis and the show ended with them doing a "fairly minor" adjustment to lean the windshield back and flatten out the roof line to bring it parallel with the body line.

Kindig said towards the beginning of the show it will be a little 'Hot Wheels' so sounds like one of his less traditional builds and something a bit more stylized.

One of the pics shows his tape lines for the roof chop.

The 70 Charger R /T that the previous owner cut up to build the Daytona stock car, is just the outer body of the original car,the entire chassis has been cut out and the outer body was put on modern Loughlin style Nascar chassis. There's no going back, Cranky. I am doing my best to put as much Charger back into the racecar though.

I like the show and look forward to seeing it. If I had the money I would let them do my Charger.

I usually like the design features that Kindig does, but I don't think the rounded panels in the engine compartment work on the 67 Coronet R/T . The car has too many squared features and straight crisp lines on the whole car.

That's what I like about them, they change a lot of things but it's usually done in a way that it doesn't look "radical" just Bitchin lol.
Back when I was racing motorcross it was the "thing" to tuck your ears under your low hat and shave your arms... they looked like a bunch of idiots to me so I totally agree! He comes from a different generation and area and seams like a really upbeat fun guy so I really don't care about his dorky hat lol.

I think they will do a good, tasteful job !!!

I'm not a big fan of some of the wheel choices
or under-hood covers, just not my personal taste or style
or even some of the stripes etc., that's my own pet peeves
but;
overall I like what Dave Kindig's shop does,
seems like his clients do too

I talked with Kevdog at a show, Roadster Show
might have been Good Guys Pleasanton meet,
he's a cool & knowledgeable guy, always smiling & laughing
(not fake **** or like a raving lunatic, he's of German descent not Hispanic, as most people think)
he's org. from the L.A. Lowrider & custom (lowered) Truck world IIRC

they have great young & talented, mech.'s, fabricators & painters too

they're not a hack shop, they don't cover up crap
it looks almost as good in bare metal as it does with paint

sort of reminds me of Rad Rides By Troy
just less of the real performance aspects, as Troy's

One of the very first things I thought about changing on the Express was the roof line. It has a tall windshield. I was looking through some old papers yesterday and found the printed out picture of it when I got it that I had cut the roof line up and pasted it in lower and also cut up the rear length and shortened it a bit by pasting back pieces of the picture till it looked right. I ended up doing neither of these mods because it was more than I wanted to get involved with. Besides ,.....I thought of some other cool stuff to do anyway..lol. The other way to solve the roof line issue is to change the forward rake of the whole car. If you drop the front enough the top of the roof aligns with the pavement and the illusion is that it looks right instead of tall.
