74 charger identify this part?

My car is older than me by one year LOL So I couldn't get it back in the days. I got it on ebay maybe 8 years ago with instruction sheets included. It worked great to test the module, HOWEVER there was something wrong to test sensors. It seemed unable to do it. I removed the conector from harness to plug it up on to underdash harnes trying to find some wire broken or anything else, but the conector is filled with somekind of epoxy wrapping all the wires and trying to remove it simply got wires broken from terminals LOL... I hope to get the patiente someday later to reassembly it and check for that.

Oh okay got it, thanks lol. That video is really interesting stuff. Very informal.

Not all Canadian cars have the orange box. Nacho, I think you mentioned this on another forum. I have a 74 built at the Lynch Rd. plant on November 30, and it has a green (or teal) box and no reset button. I dropped the box taking it off and the case broke, but at least you can see inside. Notice the jumper wire. I wonder what the difference is with the orange box and if I could use an orange one.

Maybe that unit could be replaced ?. Is a Faded/yellowished blue one, not green. I have same one with a jumper too around, not just the one I pictured. But AS FAR I KNOW some of these boxes were modified at dealers due constant failures. Some units got a paint mark when modified I think.

Maybe some cars got modified boxes from factory due the anoying deal about the interlock system ? dunno.

I have seen also green ( really green, not blue faded ) and gray boxes which are 75 and lates. Can't talk about them. AMC cars got same boxes but dunno if coded the same on colors

As mentioned, I'm runing at this moment an orange box on my car ready for the blue one and works great. Waiting to get my car assembled back and check the NOS blue box I have. It could work as an anti-thieves system because I can't imagine any thieve fasten the seatbelt to steal the car LOL

I don't have the car with me to remove the orange box and show the PCB. The pic I posted of the orange PCH is an old one I had saved on my PC. Of course it got electronic differences, but I guess mainly due the lack of logic doors ( transistors, diodes, IC ) to aprove the starting circuit once correct input signals from sensors are there. The circuit section on orange PCB is related just to warning lights and buzzers controls

So that's why some of the boxes are painted. Interesting. I guess seeing the wire on mine could mean it was modified. Funny thing, I can't find the part number 3501372 in the parts book. I have seen one on ebay and it had a paint dab on it.

I have seen some with white marks and some with a yellow dot painted. I have one with a yellow dot. I really CAN'T tell which is the reason why is that. This is just what I have read... somewhere.

Will search the PN. My 74 catalog gets several PMs for these, but this was long time ago when I was searching all the pieces to install this stuff on my car.

The NOS I have is not painted and didn't get the jumper.

Ok, I have one blue 3501372 with same jumper and the white mark on a corner, sprayed. My catalog shows 3501371 and shows it as a new number not listed on a previous catalog ( and date after 2-01-74 ) and is the ORANGE box

The other one is blue 3746658 without any jumper and got a yellow mark, BUT aplied with a brush or something similar, ( not spray ) Not on my catalog. ALTHOUGH the 8 could be a 3 dripped when printing ?.

And the NOS one ( blue ) is 3746653, none mark on it. This PN is on my parts manual catalog ( up to 11-1-73 )

I'm thinking late models could be released jumped, hence the white mark

here one example

and maybe to make them work as the Orange box, so the PN differs in just one number ? just thinking out loud

Here is one with same PN with same white mark ( don't pay attention on box but module itself )

and actually the "jumper" is a diode leg on back side, which reachs another part of the circuit on the other diode end ( to a transistor end ).

So it seems is NOT A STRAIGHT and pure jumper.

You can see the jumper in the ebay photo with the box. I've seen both of those. Mine doesn't have paint dabs, but does have a yellow mark that sort of looks like a check mark. Maybe the tech that modified mine was lazy and just used a paint pen. I'm sure the parts book was printed before the mods were done and that is why the part number isn't in them. It's only one number higher. Thanks for your help with this.
