I'm an idiot so don't listen to me.
I would try to flush the **** out of it first (air pressurized water)then button it up and run that ******.
I've seen these old V8s eat some **** that didn't even make them burp. Those are some pretty small pieces you're talking about. If a pressurized flush won't puke it out, normal running probably won't move it. Chances are you got it with the vac but can't find it.

My word guys, we're talking about a tiny Dremel wire brush.. it ain't going to cut off flow or cause mass destruction for crying out loud! I just rebuilt a 318 that had enough mud and dirt in it to build a mud hut and it was still running strong. I say try the frost plug, if no luck then just run it.

Next time use a tap instead.

Yea but one could pour concrete down the intake of a 318 and it may make it smoke a bit.

Looks to big, it won't fit a 9/16 hole. Thanks though.

It should fit. The magnet OD is smaller than the hole ID.
9/16" hole=.563 inch
10 mm magnet od= .394 inch

I can't see the brush with my camera so I think its in the water jacket, the magnet would not help at this point. That it a good idea to get that though.

Guys...

If the pump can withstand leftover chunks of the sand cores going through it, not to mention rust scale turned to mud, a tiny wire brush isn't a big deal.

I certainly hope so, I'm not ready to start it yet because I have to put the new starter in, but when I do I will be listening closely to see if I can hear anything.

Well if the block gets a hole in the water jacket and the coolant gets into the oil pan the little brush could get sucked into the oil pump and really screw things up!!!!

I think the wire brush is the least of your worries at that point

I'm going to pull the upper radiator hose and flush, that way the brush has no way of going any further to the water pump.

I wouldn't give that brush in that hole five seconds of thought. Send it!

It is not a 9/16 in hole. It is a 3/8 hole. The bolt head in 9/16. If you can't snatch it out with a pick, don't worry about it.
