Rusty Superbird, CL not mine

For 30K I’d get it driveable, Joe Dirt style, and run the wheels off it. Wouldn’t bother fixing rust or painting anything.
Exactly ! Mine is costing me nothing and I still won't "restore" it.. although the temptation is hard to resist as I work on it these past few days!

Yours is in way better shape than this pile!!

Was my point... and I still won't spend the money / time to restore it as I'd be in the red. Anyone considering this $70K rust bucket will be further ahead to buy a freshly restored Bird that the owner needs to recoupe his losses from and if I want to "upgrade" I'll sell mine as is and buy a fresh resto for a mere 15 to 20K upgrade!

No body shop would bid that job, probably has rust clear around frt.&rear glass.I can t wait to see my mine painted.it's lime/ no 4sp/&i still have people trying to buy it all the time

have to check it more thoroughly but I think I would be in at 25 tops might step higher depending on a lot

I would have to win the lottery and then tote it over to Utah and let Dave Kindig and crew have at it.

The date and VIN type font used on the door sticker looks unusual to me.

Why would there be bumps UNDER the door sticker and no marring on top of it, for such an old and decrepit car?

I would for sure be crawling in, under, and through that car and recording numbers. Would need to satisfy myself that it's the real deal.

I just blew up the foto of the door sticker (the 5th and last foto posted on CL), and with my poor eyes, I still brought out my magnifying glass.

What I saw at first was the door sticker actually sitting on top of a fender tag. That rusty spot to the left of the door sticker in the foto has letters and numbers imprinted on it like a fender tag anyway. See what I mean?
