PST rear sway bar problem

I attempted to install the rear sway bar but it's not even close to the side frame rail it's around 4 " short. I installed it per the drawing I'm not sure what to do. I emailed Dan tonight so hopefully either here or there I get and answer. I had to buy shorter bolts again they were too long for my application just like the front sway bar bolts were. I don't call because I don't get a call back.

To say the obvious, something sure don't look right!

Something is very off with those long bolts. On my stock sway bar on my 74 RR, the main horizontal section is right up under the rear axle. It shouldn't be that low to the ground.. I'm wondering if maybe the mounts without the bolts go to the leaf lower mounts by the leafsprings and the bolts go to the higher spots?

I should of took a pic of the drawing because the way it shows it is the way I have it the nut is supposed to be on top by the hanger. With it hanging down but I agree some thing is not right.

Not sure who Dan is but if it were me, I would contact James. He is here on FBBO and has answered any questions I had with PST. Maybe you were provided with the wrong directions and it gets mounted above the axle like mine. I bought mine from Firm Feel for that very reason. I didn't want it mounted under the axle.

It's well below the scrub line that way, too. Even if this is the "correct" way they want it to be installed per their directions, I would not drive with it near that low.

I was going to go with firmfeel but I just installed my leaf springs and didn't feel like taking them all apart again and I would have to get the plate to delete the iso pads just didn't feel like doing that. James was the guy who told me Dan was going to work with me on the front end so that's why I emailed him.

I can't tell from your pics for sure but it appears like the bar should be above like mine since it does not have the U shape that normally goes under the 3rd member.

Your probably right all take it apart and see if that works.

I ran ADDCO on my 74 Charger, front and rear.
Front replaced the original, perfect.
Rear was above the axle, attached to the rails.
Bends went rearward with a link to the u bolt, under the original nut.

ADDCO has been making these things since the cars were new.
( I think they started in the early 60s)
No substitute for experience, in my opinion.

Next set of bars I need, I'll get from ADDCO. I'll know they will have no issues.
Oh, after the install, I ran circles around by buddies Pontiac T/A.

I installed firm feel rear frame hung bar on my 68 satellite as the last item. I had a local suspension shop do it using their lift and they were able to snake it in and bolt it up without removing anything. The lift was key.

I went there easy route and it probably bit me lol.
